DFA Undersecretary for Civilian Security and Consular Affairs Jesus "Gary" Domingo met with the country representatives from the German political foundations in Manila, following their collaboration for the first Philippine International Political Empowerment Roundtable on 31 March 2025. The roundtable, hosted at the DFA, focused on deepening youth engagement in political education and advancing democratic governance.

This event was made possible in partnership with Hanns Seidel Foundation - Philippines Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Philippines Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom Southeast & East Asia and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung

The Diplomatic League, in partnership with the German Foundations in the Philippines (FNF Philippines: It's All About Freedom Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Hanns Seidel Foundation - Philippines), will conduct the Philippine International Political Empowerment Roundtable (PhIPER) 2025 on February 27, 2025 (Thursday) at the Department of Foreign Affairs, Double Dragon Plaza, Pasay City.

PhIPER is an innovative, by-invitation roundtable discussion that fosters an understanding of political groupings and other democratic political frameworks, with a view towards contributing to political education, reform, and empowerment in the Philippines, and of Overseas Filipinos. The forum's long-term goal is to see Overseas Filipinos holding public office in other countries.

Additionally, PhiPER endeavors to build awareness of platform-based parties, in support of stronger and more efficient political foundations.

Last August, and the League had the rare opportunity to hold a talk with two illustrious pillars of Global Disarmament: PH Ambassador Libran Cabactulan, fmr. Permament Representative to the UN-NY and Chair of the 2015 NPT Review Conference, and Mr. Aaron Tovish, fmr Director of Mayors for Peace and Parliamentarians for Global Action.
