🎨 Celebrating creativity and community!

We’re incredibly proud of two Y Community School students who recently took part in a creative workshop through Whittlesea Tech School, alongside students from other local schools.

Guided by artist Tai Snaith, they explored storytelling, collage and character design, creating original artworks inspired by their own ideas and experiences.

Their finished pieces were proudly featured in the inaugural exhibition at Outside Gallery @ Galada, part of the new lightbox gallery. The exhibition attracted a wonderful community turnout and received an overwhelmingly positive response.

Congratulations to our talented young artists for representing Y Community School with such creativity and confidence. We can’t wait to see where your artistic journey takes you next.

Y Whittlesea Change Agent Kate from has worked to develop the Connection Camp Blueprint; a model for camps that prioritises safety, inclusion, and belonging.

By combining research, lived experience, and practical design, Connection Camp Blueprint supports services to deliver consistent, high-quality experiences for young people. This is systems-level thinking, grounded in care.

The Change Agents program has provided young people from across the Y Movement worldwide with the structure and support to develop projects that have a positive impact on their communities and the opportunity to connect globally at the YMCA World Council.

This week our Y Whittlesea Early Learning Centres celebrated National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day, embracing this year’s theme, Living Our Truth. ❤️🖤💛

Across our centres, children explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through art, storytelling, traditional games and cooking. From creating artwork inspired by First Nations art to reading Dreaming stories, playing traditional games and making damper, every experience encouraged curiosity, respect and connection.

We’re proud to create opportunities for children to learn about and celebrate the world’s oldest continuing cultures through meaningful, play-based experiences.

As we return back home, we left Toronto reminded of why we do this work.

The Y is the oldest youth organisation in the world. That's not just a fact we put in bios. It's a responsibility. A legacy carried by every person who has ever worn this uniform, run a program, opened a door for a young person, or shown up for a community in need.

This week, surrounded by 1,300 Y people from 100 countries, that legacy felt tangible, alive and urgent.

We head home to Whittlesea inspired, grateful, and more committed than ever to the mission that has guided this movement for over 182 years.

The Y's work continues and we wouldn't have it any other way!

There's something you can't replicate in a webinar or a report. The experience of sitting across from a leader who is doing extraordinary work in their community, on the other side of the world, and realising you're facing the same challenges and chasing the same vision.

That's what the YMCA World Council gave us. Countless opportunities to connect and have conversations that challenged how we think, expanded what we believe is possible, and deepened our sense of purpose.

At the end of every conference, every keynote, every late-night conversation it always comes back to young people and the communities we serve.

A world where everyone belongs!

Global influence, locally lead 🌏

60 Y Australia people walked into a room of 1,300 in Toronto. They came back with something priceless.

New ideas. Bold perspectives. Connections that cross oceans. And an even deeper commitment to the communities we call home.

From Whittlesea to every corner of Australia, we showed up, we listened, we learned. And now we bring it back where it matters most: right here, with you.

Watch this space. 👀💛

🌏 Toronto bound and proud to represent Y Whittlesea! Last week, our team joined 60 incredible Australians and 1,300 Y people from 100 countries at the 21st YMCA World Council in Toronto.

When Y people come together from every corner of the globe, you feel it, a shared belief that communities are stronger when everyone belongs.

Grateful to be part of something so much bigger than ourselves!
