Headline: Book Released on the Untold Story of Shiva Singh
By Gurcharan Singh Kahlon | Sydney, October 22
An historical book providing fascinating insights into the early footprints of Sikhism in Australia through the life of Shiva Singh has been released. Shiva Singh lived in the Benalla region of Victoria, Australia, from 1897 to 1955, earning his livelihood as a hawker.
This research book has been brought to readers by Len Kenna and Crystal Jordan, the foundational researcher-authors of the Australian Indian History Society. According to the book, the period from 1920 to 1943 was highly significant for Sikh history in Australia. During this time, the holy scripture of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was brought to Australia for the very first time.
