headspace Frankston and Rosebud are proud join the Sea of Hearts movement as part of Reconciliation Week! 🖤💛❤️

The Sea of Hearts movement aims to bring people together in the spirit of reconciliation. It encourages communities to participate in celebrating our differences while also intoning the ongoing call for justice for our First Nations peoples.

headspace staff created these hearts with messages of reconciliation to show our First Nations young people that they are loved and supported within their community. 🫶 We also enjoyed some delicious scones made by our Aboriginal Youth Mental Health worker Sarah! 😋

This week is National Reconciliation Week (NRW) and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change. The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

Today we reflect on Sorry Day, a moment to acknowledge the past and honour the strength of the Stolen Generations. Let’s stand together in support and commit to healing. Every step forward is a step towards reconciliation.
- Sharmila, headspace Frankston Aboriginal Youth Mental Health Worker

commemorates the apology to members of the Stolen Generations on the day the Bringing them home report was published. Only 6% of the recommendations have been implemented in full. We stand together with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to demand urgent steps to create tangible and measurable change within survivors’ lifetimes.

We know that young people do better with their communities supporting them. At headspace, we accept a young person’s family as they do - whether by birth, choice or circumstance. And that’s why we offer support to young people’s families and friends through counselling, workshops and info sessions.

To make a referral for yourself or someone else, drop in to Frankston or Rosebud, call or email us, or use our online forms. All details are on our website:
