headspace Frankston is excited to be hosting a Careers in Youth Mental Health Panel !!! 🤩 If you are a young person aged 16 - 25 years and interested in studying or working in mental health, please come along! ✨

We will have a diverse range of panelists working in the field who will talk about their own experiences, give advice and answer any questions you may have. 🙂

💜 Today is Wear it Purple! On this day we celebrate LGBTQIA+ young people, challenge harmful stereotypes and advocate for safe and inclusive environments. 🌈

This year’s theme ‘Colours of Courage’ reflects the many forms of courage displayed by LGBTQIA+ young people and allies every day. 🙂

We encourage everyone to wear a piece of purple clothing to show your support for LQBTQIA+ young people! 🙌

August 12th is the UN’s International Youth Day. It is an awareness day that is meant to highlight youth contributions and how their creativity and leadership help shape communities. 🗣️

The headspace Frankston Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is comprised of young people passionate about contributing to something bigger than themselves. We are always grateful for their diverse opinions and perspectives, and of course their contributions to headspace Frankston and the community! ☺️

August 3rd-9th is Homelessness Week / Homelessness Awareness Week 💛 Homelessness doesn’t always look like someone living on the streets; it can look like someone sleeping in their car, moving frequently between temporary accommodation and shelters, couch surfing or even lacking a safe place to live.

Many factors can cause homelessness, including but not limited to domestic/family violence, financial difficulties, complex mental and physical health reasons. Homelessness can impact someone’s physical and mental health ,ability to find employment, seek medical treatment, food stability and social life.

In you or someone you know needs support in the Frankston and surrounding areas, there are organisations that are able to provide support including The Salvation Army - Homelessness Services, Community Support Frankston (CSF) and Ask Izzy. Outside of business hours, you can also call the Statewide Homelessness Helpline on 1800 825 955. 🏡🫶

💜🌈 We are seeking young artists to hold stalls at the Wear it Purple Youth Makers Market happening on the 29th of August!!! If you are a young person who expresses your creativity by drawing, painting, knitting, making jewellery and more, we highly encourage you to apply! 🎨🖌️

✨ Whether you have held stalls before or if it’s your first time, our friendly team will be here to support you through every step. We provide you with tables and chairs, as well as help with printing such as stall signs, pricing guides and more All you need to bring is yourself and your amazing artworks/pcroducts! 🙌🔥
