The IEEE Student Branch at La Trobe University is pleased to announce its AGM 2025, scheduled for Monday, 29th January 2026, starting at 4:00 PM The meeting will be accessible both in person and online via Zoom.

All IEEE members and nonmembers of La Trobe University are invited to the AGM. Please register using the link below, and we will send you the meeting details.

Nominations are now open for the Executive Committee Positions in the IEEE Student Branch at La Trobe University. Please submit your nominations using the link below on or before the 26th of January 2026. Note that all nominees must attend the AGM. Election results will be announced during the meeting.

IEEE La Trobe Student Branch was recognised as the Outstanding Student Branch in the IEEE Victorian Section 2025! Our student branch counsellor, Professor Daswin de Silva, was also recognised as the Outstanding Student Branch Counsellor of the IEEE Victorian Section 2025. We thank everyone for their continued support.

A Technical Session on GenAI Vibe Coding for Industrial Systems organised by the IEEE Student Branch La Trobe University was held on 16th October 2025.
In this workshop, the speaker, Kanishka Dandeniya, IEEE Student member, Data Scientist at the Centre for Data Analytics and Cognition, La Trobe University, guided the audience through the use of Gen AI Vibe Coding for prototyping industrial systems.
Vibe coding involves using AI to generate functional code from natural language prompts. Attendees discovered the latest tools and AI-powered platforms that make coding faster and more efficient.

The IEEE Student Branch at La Trobe University held an Officer Meet and Greet and Administrative Meeting on 9th October 2025 at 12 PM in the Agora, Bundoora Campus.

The session provided an opportunity for branch officers to connect, discuss administrative updates, and collaboratively plan upcoming events for the next few months. The meeting focused on enhancing club operations, strengthening teamwork, and outlining strategies to engage more students in IEEE activities.

IEEE Student Branch La Trobe University Chair Isuru Senadheera presented at a panel discussion at INSIGHT 2025: IEEE Victorian Section Leadership Symposium on September 20, 2025 at CQ University, Melbourne.

The INSIGHT 2025: IEEE Victorian Section Leadership Symposium - was a full-day professional development and networking event jointly funded by the IEEE Region 10 Section Chapter Committee and the IEEE Victorian Section. Aimed at current and aspiring Section Chapter Leaders and Student Leaders, the symposium offered a series of engaging sessions designed to strengthen leadership and operational skills within IEEE.
