Te Ara Hononga - The Point of Connection for thriving in one's uniqueness.

04/08/2026

Matariki marks a new beginning. A time to reflect on where we have been, honour those who came before us, and set our intentsion for the journey ahead and what better time to invest in yourself and reconnect with who you are?

Mau Rākau Term 3 Intake is NOW OPEN for 2026!!

REGISTER NOW: https://www.twttoa.com/tahregistration.html

Come and train the art of becoming a Toa.

What does it take to be a Toa? We don’t have all the answers! In fact we are still discovering them ourselves! And that is the beauty of the journey.

If you have ever felt the smallest pull towards Mau Rākau, this is your sign. Take the first step. It is just 10 weeks out of you life, but it could shape the rest of your life.

Mau Rākau is so much more than learning traditional Māori weaponry, it is a pathway back to our Māoritanga, to ourselves, and to one another. It is about building a stronger and healthier future for our people and our community.

Come train the art of being a Toa. Anybody can make a start. What does it take to be a Toa? We’re still figuring it out and that’s the best part.

If you have even the slightest pull to see what it’s about, jump in and give it a go. It will only be 10 weeks of your entire life.

Mau Rākau is about reconnecting to our Māoritanga, to ourselves, and to each other, to lead a strong, healthy future as Māori, for everyone. It is about strength and vulnerability. Discipline and intuition. Leadership and care. Respect and courage. Identity and possibility. Confidence and humility.

It’s about learning not just to meet tension, but to move through it. In our teachings, your leaders are also students. When you learn, so do they. Tuakana teina.

When we reconnect to our Māori knowledge systems, we don’t just strengthen ourselves as Māori, we contribute to a stronger, more grounded world. Te Ara Hononga welcomes all to learn through our taonga tuku iho.

Maybe you just want to tap into how far your potential can go. Or maybe you just want to do something cool for now. We love that too.
