Seeing double? 😂 Now that we've got your attention:

Meet Astrid and Vinnie, two different houndies who are both looking for their forever homes and both helping share an important message.

When an adoptable greyhound finds their forever home, their foster place opens for another hound waiting to experience pet life, often for the very first time. Without adoptions, gorgeous greyhounds like Astrid and Vinnie end up waiting longer for their forever families. And the greyhounds on our waiting list wait longer to come into care.

☺️ If adoption isn’t on the cards just yet, fostering creates that same opportunity: placement for one hound, and more capacity for GSN to help the next. 🐶 Adopt or foster, either way your ‘yes’ extends far beyond just helping one houndie.

We are so proud of this progress:

When sweet 5 year old Jess first arrived into GSN’s program, she was so frightened that she hid in the bathroom 😔

Jess is a shy noodle at heart, but in her time in foster care she has been taking some very brave steps.

❤️ Most recently ventured out to our Playdate and joined us at last weekend’s Robbo's Pet Barn event, where Jess stayed until she decided she’d had enough and was ready for a well-earned rest.

🥹 A huge thank you to her foster mum, Julie, for approaching Jess’s socialisation with such patience and gentleness, always allowing her to move at her own pace.

We’re so proud of you, brave Jess. Look how far you’ve come. 🏠 Now the next step is a family who will understand that Jess warms up slowly, but when she does she'll show you what a beautiful sweet potato she is.

Jess is toilet trained, loves her food, and gets along well with other dogs. She may enjoy living with another calm hound, especially one who understands the joy of a good snooze and the art of doing absolutely nothing.

We're looking for a quiet home for our Jess, who values a slow, quiet life. Somewhere away from the hustle and bustle, with people who simply get her.

If visitors arrive, Jess may choose to retreat to another room. Her perfect person won’t take it personally, but they’ll simply understand that feeling safe sometimes means having the freedom to step away.

🥹 What a wonderful day GSN had today at Robbo’s Petbarn!

We loved meeting so many people interested in adopting and fostering and introducing the community to just how wonderful greyhounds are as companions.

🙌 A huge thank you to Robbo’s for hosting us and for the generous donations our foster hounds will enjoy! Events like these give us such a valuable opportunity to connect with the community, answer questions and help more people discover the joy of sharing their lives with a greyhound.

Thank you to Mark, Bec, Amanda who has just joined the GSN family, Laura with Nora, Alejandro, Vicki, Julie with brave Jess, Ralph and Vinnie for helping make today happen.

FOSTER TO ADOPT A UNICORN:

🦄 Cat friendly and small dog friendly greyhound.

At only one and a half, Rupert is a handsome, leggy boy with lots of love to give. He is the biggest sweetheart and takes his role as Snuggle Specialist very seriously.

Rupert can sense when you need extra love and will dump his head into your lap. His love language is, you guessed it: touch and he's happiest when he's with you.

He is cat friendly, and small dog friendly. Rupert has made friends with a jack russell terrier, and they've enjoyed many a good session of bitey face. He's also lived happily with another male greyhound. Rupert would absolutely love a canine friend who is matched in goofy, spring bean energy.

Rupert walks well on the leash, he loves the beach and rides happily in the car. He's mastered indoor and outdoor stairs, and he's toilet trained. He'll even go potty on cue.

The only drawback of being a Snuggle Specialist is that Rupert simply adores humans so much, that when they go out, he can't continue his vital work. He's happiest when everyone's cup is full. He will thrive if you're home more often than not. Or if he could accompany you to work, so he can dish out love to your coworkers who need a little bump of snoot-shaped serotonin.

Rupert is looking for a family who can help him through his separation training. We're offering a foster-to-adopt arrangement, as he's already been living as a pet, which will give you a bit more time to see if it's a match. And if it’s not, you’ll still have helped Rupert on his way to forever.

Looking for someone to make you laugh, get you out for a walk and curl up beside you afterwards? Meet Monty, our brindle beauty is equal parts bouncy bean and affectionate sweetheart, with enough goofy charm to make every day brighter.

The way to Monty’s heart is through his stomach, he’s wonderfully food motivated. Learning new things with the aid of treats will be so enriching for our brainy brindle. Don’t be tempted to leave your sandwich unattended, though as this good boy might think it's now his sandwich.

A twice daily walk is one of his favourite activities, and he is comfortable around busy roads and loud noises. Let him follow his nose, he loves to stop and sniff. If you’re heading out for a drive, Monty would love to join – with a helping hand, he hops into the car and travels well.

He’s a four-legged Monty Python when it comes to being a goofball, Monty is a little comedian and will make you laugh with his antics. Monty is so ready to find his forever home, and you’ll be the perfect fit if you love getting out for walks and ideally have a backyard that Monty can stretch his legs in.

Friends are life's treasures, and Tommy has been spending time gathering them 🥹

It's for this reason, that our stripey sweatheart has never met a stranger. He adores his guardians, and makes friends whenever he goes. At GSN, Tommy has a healthy fan club.

In foster care currently with resident noodle, Penny, Tommy has slotted right in and figured out the routine. Tommy is best suited to homes with older kids, and not suitable for homes with cats, small dogs, or pocket pets. All Tommy needs is a medium-to-large canine-shaped friend, who is gentle, and who won't mind sharing their space or toys.

Fully toilet trained, aced his separation training, learnt basic lead manners, as well as how to jump in and out of the car and mastered the weird portal between floors that the humans call 'stairs'.

On walks, Tommy loves following his nose and investigating every interesting sniff. He can sometimes have opinions when he spots another dog, but is super responsive to calm guidance and easily redirected. It helps if his walking friends also keep their cool.

Tommy would thrive with a calm, confident canine companion to share his home and help him continue blossoming. Could your dog be the best friend he’s been waiting for?

Meet Jesse. Emphasis is on the 'eeee' because this 4 year old boy is a cat-friendly cutie patootie.

Blue, velvet-soft, a social butterfly with all beings. A loveable goof, Jesse is in foster care with two indoor, dog-friendly cats and kiddos.

He's also lived with a small dog, and socialises well with dogs of all sizes. Jesse adores his greyhound mates, and would be happy to share his new home with another houndie.

If you went to Houndtees Festival of the Hound, Jesse attended and socialised like an old hat with members of the public and other dogs. When people stopped to chat, Jesse dished out serotonin, in exchange for scritches. He had a very good day 🥹

Our social butterfly gets tippy tappy toes when you reach for the leash, he's excellent on lead and loves his daily spins around the block. Let him stop to check his weemails, and he'll be the happiest lad alive.

🙏 A very heartfelt thank you to Jason and the wonderful team at Truck Tyres Australia for their incredibly generous support in providing new tyres for Julie’s car.

Julie’s car is used every day to help our beautiful greyhounds on their journey from kennel to couch, and into loving new homes. So, having safe and reliable tyres makes such a meaningful difference.

We are truly grateful for your kindness, generosity and support. It means so much to Julie, to our team, and most importantly, to our gorgeous greyhounds. 💘
