On Saturday 22nd of August! A few members from VASSI had the privilege of attending the Premieres multicultural gala! It was an awesome night to celebrate the diversity and the strength of our community groups here in Victoria! We had a ball meeting with familiar faces and meeting new community groups in the sector! Thank you Victorian Multicultural Commission for an amazing night! 🙌🏾✨

More than a logo — it’s our identity.

This new VASSI logo was created to better reflect our values, culture and the people at the heart of our organisation.

Every element has meaning:
⭐ The stars honour our Samoan heritage.
🌴 The coconut tree represents life, strength and resilience.
👵🏽👴🏽 Our elders symbolise wisdom, experience and leadership.
⭕ The circle represents the love, unity and support that keeps our community connected.

Together, these symbols tell the story of who we are: a proud Samoan community in Victoria that values culture, respect and togetherness.

“E malosi le tagata i lona aiga ma lona nu’u.”
A person is strengthened by their family and community.

🇼🇸 Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa 2026 🇼🇸

“E Afua Mai Mauga le Manuia o Nuu”
The wellbeing of our communities flows from the mountains.

This Samoan Language Week, VASSI celebrates the voices of our elders who continue to carry the stories, language, faith and values that strengthen our communities.

Today we are honoured to share Tauaa (Taua'aletoa Polataivao Malaetele) story. Like the mountains that stand as a source of strength and guidance, our elders are the foundation of our families and communities. Their wisdom reminds us of where we come from and inspires the generations that follow.

Fa’afetai Tauaa for sharing your journey and helping preserve our gagana, aganu’u and fa’atuatua for future generations.

❤️🇼🇸

Seniors of Vassi 🎥

Our seniors are the absolute heart of VASSI.
In this special series, we’re proud to introduce the beautiful individuals who bring wisdom, laughter, culture, and life to our community each week ✨

Say hello to Lina Sione, 67 years young and full of life! From the beautiful villages of Faleasi’u, Satapuala & Aleisa 🇼🇸

Since joining VASSI in 2023, Lina has kept us smiling with her humour, energy, and willingness to serve, whether it’s organising outings, helping with fundraisers, supervising games, or leading our Zumba sessions.

A true team player and a blessing to our VASSI community 💙

A heartfelt thank you to our team, members, volunteers, families, and friends who made this van possible. We give all glory to God 🙌🏽

This van will now help us continue our mission of caring for and connecting our seniors in the community. 🚌💙

We created this organisation to help tackle isolation among our elders who are retired or may have limited access to community supports and social interaction. Our aim is to provide a safe, welcoming space where our seniors can feel comfortable, stay socially connected, and remain active.

Through community access, social connection, and cultural engagement, we hope to support the wellbeing of our elders and continue strengthening our village here in the West 🇼🇸🤍

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our team via *DM, email, or text.
