A mild damp morning for our recent working bee at Baluk Willam. Some volunteers dug out a patch of agapanthus in the southern fire break while others put their efforts into controlling kikuyu which was encroaching on our precious area of Caladenia oenochila. Muddy work after the recent welcome rain. Friends of Baluk Willam meet every fourth Saturday 9-12, all welcome!

Friends of Baluk Willam met for the first time this year on a warm, humid morning. First, we surveyed the emergent leaves of small tongue orchid (Cryptostylis leptochila) and found a good total despite the dry summer. Then, we moved to the northern area to focus on pittosporum seedlings, with a total of around 1500 seedlings removed by the team today! Over the years the Friends are proud to have kept pittosporum well under control. FOBW meets every fourth Saturday, 9-12, all welcome.
