This week is Loneliness Awareness Week, a time to recognise how common loneliness is and how deeply it can affect people. Feeling lonely does not always mean being alone, and it is not always obvious from the outside. A simple message, phone call or conversation can help someone feel seen and connected.

Lifeline is here to help. Call 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14.

A new week can feel like standing on the starting blocks, with pressure to launch into a whole new version of yourself. But you don’t need to begin a huge self-improvement journey every Monday or have everything mapped out from day one.

Start where you are, focus on one manageable step and give yourself permission to move at your own pace.

If you or someone you know needs support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14.

Take a moment today to check in with yourself and someone you care about. A small act of kindness can help someone feel seen, supported and less alone, and it can lift your own mood too. In short, being kind can make you feel like the GOAT, so pass it on whenever you can.

If you or someone you know needs support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14.

A national test of AusAlert will take place on Monday 27 July.

The test will send a Critical Alert to all compatible mobile devices across Australia, even if your phone is on silent or ‘Do Not Disturb’.

If receiving this alert could impact your safety, please take steps to prepare ahead of time:

Turn your device off or switch it to aeroplane mode one hour before the test.

Keep it off or in aeroplane mode for 24 hours after the test.

We recognise that receiving an unexpected alert may place some people in difficult or unsafe situations, or cause distress. If this information has raised concerns for you, Lifeline is available 24/7. Call 13 11 14 or text 0477 13 11 14.
