🧠✨ Supporting Functional Mobility in Patients with Complex Mobility Needs

Come along for a practical, hands-on neuro rehab session designed to give you real insight into working with patients requiring higher levels of physical assistance.

Hosted by experienced neurophysiotherapists Maddison McAlister and Ellie Newman, this in-clinic event is your chance to tour a real rehab space, explore equipment, and build practical skills relevant across both community and acute settings.

You’ll get hands-on experience with:
• Pelvic orientation & tilt
• Bed mobility
• Sit to stand
• Sitting & standing posture
• Gait & mobility assistance

Expect a strong practical focus — plenty of opportunities to get involved, move, and learn by doing 💡 You’ll also hear about the clinic’s new graduate program and what it’s like working in neuro rehab post-uni.

Hey DPTs!

Want to learn more about how to support patients with artificial airways? 🫁 Well look no further!

The Cardiorespiratory SIG is excited to bring back our popular event from last year: Tracheostomy Management and Oxygen Therapy masterclass with Olivia Jenvey. Olivia is a Grade 3 Physiotherapist at St Vincent's Hospital who works largely within ENT surgery and has vast experience working with tracheostomy patients. You will learn about:

✨ Airway anatomy and how artificial airways impact respiratory function
✨ Practical approaches to airway clearance techniques
✨ Treatment considerations for patients with altered airways

This is a great opportunity to learn from an expert working in the field, and we hope to see many of you there!

🏃‍♂️ MUPSS Fortnightly Run Club! 🏃‍♀️

Lace up and join the MUPSS crew for a cruisy run, good chats, and even better vibes! ☀️ Whether you’ve never run before or you’re an absolute gazelle, this one’s for you - we’ll have different pace groups so everyone can feel comfortable and enjoy the run 🙌 nobody will be left behind!

It’s all about getting moving together, meeting new faces, and supporting each other 🤝

After the run, we’ll head for a coffee catch-up (coffee voucher for the first 10 to arrive) ☕️ - the perfect chance to hang out, connect on Strava, and check in with each other 💬
