Edward Schuller, National Secretary of the TPAA, views this as a profound betrayal of the very people who keep our schools running.

“This really is one of the most pivotal moments for unionism in Australia,” Schuller says.

“The Labor Government and its departments must recognise the right for workers to freely associate and organise as they see fit.

“If not, they will have betrayed the working class and the very foundation of the union movement in our country.”

A troubling standoff is currently brewing within the ACT public sector enterprise bargaining negotiations.

Teachers’ Professional Association of Australia national secretary Edward Schuller said the allegations “uncover a disturbing pattern of behaviour” from the school’s leaders.

“Given that various parents and teachers have raised serious concerns about the conduct of key figures in leadership, the TPAA believes it is in the best interests of our members that MACS acts swiftly to address the industrial and cultural issues,” he said.

“The question must be asked: how can so many report the same harrowing experiences, only for their pleas to fall on deaf ears?”

National secretary Edward Schuller slammed the “wasteful” Allan Government and called for economic reform to meaningfully address issues of teacher workload, class sizes, and student behaviour.

“The offer does not address the radical reform so desperately needed in our education system. Instead, it entrenches the same government waste that has put Victoria in the hole it is today - while leaving frontline teachers out to dry,” he said.

VICTORIAN TEACHERS REJECT PAY OFFER!

We can now reveal that TPAA members voted 65% NO, while AEU members voted 57% NO to the Allan Government's pay offer.

This was bound to happen. Genuine systemic reform is what is required in education, not tinkering around the edges.

We implore the government to address systemic waste and provide resources to frontline teachers, not bloated government bureaucracies.
