Palliative care is not just about the end of life. It is about quality of life, comfort, and connection.
National Palliative Care Week 2026 runs from 10–16 May, themed "Getting to the heart of it: Big Questions. Real Answers." Led by Palliative Care Australia, this initiative aims to raise awareness, dispel myths, and encourage crucial conversations about end-of-life care, supporting quality of life for those with life-limiting illnesses.
There are three main themes that match our person centred care values:
Living well, your way – focuses on comfort, quality of life, and staying connected to what matters most to you.
Conversation changes everything – Starting the discussion early reduces uncertainty. It supports better planning and personalized care.
The heart of care – highlights care that feels personal, safe, and deeply respectful for individuals and their families.
Let’s replace fear with understanding. Let’s replace isolation with community.
Ask the big questions. Get the real answers.
