Celebrating 80 Glorious Years of Excellence! 🌸💛💚💖💛

With immense pride and heartfelt gratitude, the Devians of Australia and New Zealand join hands with our beloved alma mater, Maliyadeva Girls' College, Kurunegala, in celebrating its remarkable 80th Anniversary.

For eight decades, our mother school has nurtured generations of confident, compassionate, and accomplished women who continue to make meaningful contributions across the world. Though many of us now call Australia and New Zealand home, the values, friendships, and lifelong memories we cherish were all shaped within the halls of Maliyadeva Girls' College.

As proud Devians, we celebrate this significant milestone with deep appreciation for our teachers, past and present, fellow alumni, students, and everyone who has contributed to the school's enduring legacy of excellence.

A heartfelt appreciation to our amazing Devians Netball and Cricket squads for their strength, dedication, and passion both on and off the field. Your commitment, teamwork, and love for our alma mater continue to inspire us all. Beyond the game, it's the unity, support, and bond we share that truly make us stronger. From organizing and participating to standing by each other every step of the way, every moment is a proud Devians memory.

A special thanks to all the Devians who worked tirelessly behind the scenes as supporting staff for the SLISPPN Tournament Australia 2026; your dedication, hard work, and unwavering support played a vital role in making this event a great success.

Proud moments of our incredible Devians in Australia 🇱🇰✨

This remarkable journey began in 2023, when Devians in Australia first took the initiative to start the Sri Lanka Interschool Past Pupils Netball Tournament Australia. As Maliyadeva Girls College - Devians Victoria Chapter we changed history by organizing the first and largest Sri Lankan netball tournament outside of Sri Lanka.

In 2026, Their continuous effort over the years shaped this tournament into the outstanding success it is today. Many Devians worked tirelessly behind the scenes – planning, organizing, coordinating, marketing and every detail to deliver a high-quality and memorable event that brought us all together in 2026.

Our efforts for 4 years have made this tournament a great success. 2026 became a proud milestone when alumni of 35 Sri Lankan schools in Australia and New Zealand competed in the same tournament.

At the same time, our Devians also took to the court and played proudly representing our beloved school. They represented our alma mater with pride and unity in every game, showing passion, unity and true sportsmanship and achived a victory. The children of our devians played together as one team and the name of our school shone even more.

From organisers to players, and many Devians who supported in different ways, every contribution mattered. Our strength, unity, and commitment brought everyone together as one family. Together, we didn’t just take part only — we built something special and made history.

From those early beginnings, we have come a long way, growing step by step through dedication, teamwork and a shared vision to build something truly meaningful.

We made the name of “our beloved alma mater - Maliyadeva Girls’ College (මලියදේව බාලිකා විද්‍යාලය )shine proudly across borders. 💚❤️🙏🏼

Devians Cricket- 2026 🟢🏏
We were thrilled to share that our Devians Cricket Team captain, Arjini Indika Ambegoda and vice‑captain, Shani Ginthota proudly represented us at the official team briefing and fixture draw for the Sri Lankan Cricket Carnival held in HillCrest77, Lysterfield, Victoria on 27th March.

It was an honour to stand among participants from more than 40 schools at this vibrant community event.
With the fixtures now set, our team is gearing up to bring a strong, competitive spirit to the tournament and give our fellow colleagues a truly exciting game.
