THANK YOU ROTARY CAROLINE SPRINGS Rotary Caroline Springs
Min Bell and I attended the Rotary Caroline Springs Changeover on the weekend. We were met immediately with a Rotary SAFE Families pull up banner beside the Rotary Caroline Springs banner.

The photographer took photos of all guests in front of the banners. The tables had all our printed resources, the outgoing P Martin Farrugia and incoming President Dr Nivideta Nagarale both mentioned RSF in their speeches.

Guests were reading the booklets and talking about them. Thank you to our dear friend Ronald Moss, who has the role on the Board for Director of Club Learning and Rotary SAFE Families! PP Rotary Caroline Springs, he is passionate in his work with Family Violence and Inclusion, Diversity and Equity. Ronald provides Rotary SAFE Families with a dynamic style and many contacts that are beneficial to our work in diversity for many years now.

Annually, approximately one in six (14.8%) older Australians experience some form of elder abuse. Research by the Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) in 2021 found:
โ€ข Psychological abuse is the most common form
โ€ข Followed by financial abuse (data of Seniors Rights Victoria)
โ€ข 53% of perpetrators are family members
โ€ข Coercive and controlling behaviour inc. neglect are abuse
โ€ข Abuse is significantly underreported and often overlooked
โ€ข Only a limited number of elder abuse cases are reflected in formal systems through police reports, criminal charges, or court determinations.

On behalf of Rotary SAFE Families - Building a Culture of Family Peace, I want to thank President Lyn Fava and the wonderful members of Rotary Werribee for their incredibly generous donation of $14,000 to our Towards Respectful Relationships program.

This fantastic contribution will provide Rotary Werribee with the ability to sponsor more schools in their local area, giving young people the opportunity to explore โ€” through the powerful medium of filmmaking โ€” what a respectful, healthy relationship looks like, and how to recognise and prevent abuse.
