7 травня 2026 року Nataliya Poshyvaylo-Towler Голова Союзу Українок Вікторії, Ukrainian Women’s Association Victoria виступила зі звітом перед Національною Радою Жінок штату Вікторія (NCWV) National Council of Women of Victoria щодо незаконної депортації та примусового вивезення українських дітей Росією.

Під час доповіді йшлося про задокументовані факти цього злочину:

▪️ близько 20 000 випадків можливого примусового переміщення українських дітей;
▪️ 16 142 випадки офіційно підтверджені;
▪️ лише 2 003 дітей повернуті станом на лютий 2026 року.

‼️Говорили про конкретні приклади, наслідки для родин, міжнародно-правову оцінку цих дій та ініціативу Президента України Bring Kids Back UA щодо повернення українських дітей.

‼️Окремо було наголошено на ролі Австралії як члена Міжнародної коаліції з повернення українських дітей та важливості активної позиції громадянського суспільства.

‼️Відбулася змістовна дискусія щодо можливостей ширшого інформування австралійського суспільства, уряду та медіа.

Було запропоновано провести подібні презентації в інших штатах Австралії, а також виступити з доповіддю на конференції Національної Ради Жінок Австралії у Канберрі в червні цього року та ініціювати спільний план дій.

‼️Повернення кожної незаконно депортованої дитини — це питання міжнародного права, справедливості та людської гідності.

‼️Кожна дитина має право на родину, ім’я і Батьківщину.

✅On Thursday, 7 May, Chairwoman of the Ukrainian Women’s Association Victoria presented a report to the members of the National Council of Women of Victoria on the unlawful deportation and forcible transfer of Ukrainian children by Russia.

Shared documented ‼️facts:

✅• Nearly 20,000 cases of deported or forcibly transferred Ukrainian children have been recorded since the full-scale invasion in 2022.
✅• More than 16,000 cases are officially confirmed.
✅• Only just over 2,000 children have been successfully returned home.

✅Under Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, deportation from occupied territory is prohibited.
✅Under Article II(e) of the Genocide Convention, the forcible transfer of children from one national group to another constitutes an act of genocide.

✅This is why the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants related specifically to the unlawful deportation of Ukrainian children.

✅We also discussed the international Bring Kids Back UA initiative — a coordinated effort focused on tracing, return, reintegration, and accountability. Australia is a member of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, and sustained engagement is essential.

✅We had a robust and constructive discussion on practical ways to inform broader Australian society, government, and media about this issue. Women’s organisations play a vital role in ensuring that child protection remains a moral and legal priority.

Every child has the right to identity, family, and homeland.
Every unlawfully deported child must be returned.

On this day of remembrance, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who have served, and to remember those who gave their lives in defence of freedom and peace.

The ANZAC legacy, born from the Gallipoli campaign of 1915, has become a lasting symbol of duty, resilience, and comradeship. It reminds us of the profound cost of freedom and the shared responsibility to uphold the values for which it was defended.

Today, we pay tribute to all veterans, to women and men in uniform, and to those who continue to serve in the pursuit of peace, safety, and human dignity.

У день пам’яті й шани ми схиляємо голови перед мужністю, жертовністю та служінням усіх, хто проходив військову службу, і перед тими, хто віддав своє життя за свободу та мир.

Спадщина ANZAC, що бере свій початок із подій Галліполійської кампанії 1915 року, стала незмінним символом обов’язку, стійкості та побратимства. Вона нагадує про високу ціну свободи та спільну відповідальність за збереження цінностей, за які було покладено життя.

У час війни історії проживаються, витримуються і стають свідченням сили звичайних людей, які опинилися в центрі великої історії.

Українська громада Мельбурна мала особливу нагоду долучитися до події, що відбулася у двох локаціях — у North Melbourne та Noble Park. Зустріч із українським режисером і письменником Русланом Горовим об’єднала громаду навколо правди, пам’яті та відповідальності свідчити.

У межах заходів було представлено документальний фільм:
🎬 «Moshchun: The Diary of Liudmyla Oleksandrivna» — щемку розповідь про жінку, яка пережила бої за Київ у власному домі та залишила свідчення у своєму щоденнику.

Живе спілкування з автором, відповіді на запитання, зустрічі з громадою, підписання книг і благодійні аукціони наповнили ці події особливим змістом. Вони стали простором для глибшого розуміння, співпереживання та підтримки тих, хто сьогодні найбільше цього потребує.

Діяльність Руслана Горового є прикладом відданості правді та людям. Його праця з підтримки родин в Україні та пошуку депортованих дітей утверджує важливість спільної відповідальності та дії.

Дякуємо кожному, хто долучився, підтримав і розділив цей день разом із нами.

Росте калина-переможе Україна! 🇺🇦

У липні 2023 року Ukrainian Women’s Association Victoria долучився до всесвітньої акції висадження калини, яку провели союзянки по всьому світу.

У затишному куточку перед бібліотекою одного з районів Мельбурна, за сприяння місцевої ради, було висаджено кущ калини — символ нашої сили, пам’яті та незламності.

Сьогодні ми навідали нашу калину, і вона вже розрослася пишним, міцним кущем.

Віримо в перемогу та відбудову України, працюємо далі!

Every number here is a child. A life. A family waiting.

In March 2026, Ukraine continued its tireless work to bring home children who were unlawfully deported and forcibly taken.

💔 47 children were returned this month
💙💛 2,083 children have now been brought back home

But behind these numbers is a much bigger reality.

Thousands of Ukrainian children have been taken from their families, their language, their identity — and in many cases, placed into systems designed to erase who they are.

This month alone:
▪️ More countries joined the global coalition to bring Ukrainian children home
▪️ The UN confirmed these actions constitute crimes against humanity
▪️ Evidence continues to emerge of organised re-education and militarisation
▪️ Hundreds of thousands of children may already be absorbed into Russian-controlled systems

Ukraine has officially documented over 20,570 cases. The true number is likely far higher.

As Ukrainian women, as mothers, as community leaders — we cannot stay silent.

We stand with every child.
We stand with every family waiting.
And we are determined to help bring them home.

There can be no just peace without the return of Ukraine’s children.

🎯 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ruslan Gorovyi is a Ukrainian filmmaker, writer, and founder of an initiative dedicated to searching for children illegally deported to Russia.

After losing an eye, he was unable to serve in the armed forces and instead devoted his life to documenting the human side of war and supporting civilians affected by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Today, he assists over 200 families across the Kyiv, Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv regions — mostly elderly people, single mothers, and families whose loved ones are held in captivity. His work continues to bring practical aid and attention to those who need it most.
