Food relief isn’t optional. It’s essential.

With over half of students skipping meals due to rising costs, cutting support was never the answer.

We intervened to save the Frozen Meals program and we’ll keep fighting until every student has access to affordable food. 💚

Imagine paying $$$ for a design degree and being told to “make do” with alternatives when Adobe hikes its prices. That’s the reality right now.

Affinity is fine — but it’s not what the industry runs on. Students deserve the real thing.

Community will fight for Adobe Suite for ALL design students. Because your education should set you up for success, not leave you scrambling.

🚨 International Student fees are out of control.

Since 2021, they’ve skyrocketed by 24% — and if nothing changes, a bachelor’s degree could soon cost over $200,000.

That’s not just a number. It’s years of student debt. It’s students pushed to work longer hours, at the expense of their studies and wellbeing.

And it’s happening every single year — mid-degree hikes that blindside students who thought they knew what they were signing up for.

Community is fighting back.

✅ We believe students should pay the fees set in the year they enrol — not be punished with rising costs later on.

✅Push the University to set up an independent review into fee spikes, and cap future fee rises in line with inflation.

With your support, we can force the university to lock in fair, predictable fees for every student.

This is about protecting your future, and the right to a degree that doesn’t bankrupt you.

Every student deserves to feel safe on campus, no matter the time of day.

Community is committed to making our campus a place where everyone feels secure by fighting to deliver essential safety measures, including:

Improved lighting across the campus and around the oval to ensure all areas are well-lit and accessible at night.

Increased availability of blue emergency phones, so help is always within reach.

Provision of safety tools such as flashlights and panic alarms in women’s and queeer spaces, empowering students to take control of their personal safety.

Together, we can make the campus a safer, more welcoming environment for everyone.

The University Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is a vital resource for students experiencing mental health concerns, and it should adequately service the linguistic diversity among the student body.

The ability to freely discuss your deepest concerns without the mental barrier of having to translate every personal feeling is a right, not a privilege. This is why Community will fight to make the service hire more multilingual counsellors and open up more appointments, catering for a greater range of languages.

We’re proud to have a broad range of cultures and beliefs in our team. Diversity matters because and we need perspectives and insights from all corners of the world at the heart of our student union.
