“This was the first time in my life (and in my mother’s, as she confirmed) that I had seen the story of a Tamil woman in Australia told on a stage.

When we don’t put these stories on our stages, we don’t just close a door on the future; we decide these aren’t Australian stories, and the people in them aren’t quite Australian either.”

In this review, she reflects on the experience.

What a special way to kickstart the first ASAC book club of the year.

We loved reading ‘Erotic stories for Punjabi widows’ and had the pleasure of hosting the author herself last week..

Learning about journey from writing processes, experiences, and behind-the-scenes of authoring was fascinating. We can’t wait for your new book (November book club pick? 😉)

A sunny Saturday afternoon full of laughter while we discussed the South Asian diaspora, the patriarchy, murder mysteries, gossiping aunties, and of course… erotic stories 🍆

Our book club has been running for 5+ years and meets every 2 months in Naarm (Melbourne), hosted in members homes. We read South Asian women authors, if you’re interested in joining the link’s in the bio.
