Indie Authors! Sell your books at NAHC!

The availability of Vendor tables at NAHC will genuinely be very limited, with priority given to vendors boasting a larger volume and range of horror-related products.

So what if you’re an indie horror author with only a small number of titles you’d love to sell at NAHC? Well, worry not – we’ve made provision for this!

We’re very pleased to announce that the Australian online horror bookstore, Nightmare on Hansen, will be trading at NAHC as our official bookseller of indie titles. So, if you have a small number of book titles you think would suit the National Australian Horror Convention, just head to our website at natozhorrorcon.com, click on the Vendors menu, select Indie Authors, and submit an application for Nightmare on Hansen to sell your books.

Terms and conditions do apply, but Jess from Nightmare on Hansen will reach out to applicants to discuss these in detail.

So: help us to introduce your horror book(s) to new readers, and fill out an online application today!

So tell us about the venue for the National Australian Horror Convention…
Well, okay, if you insist.
The venue for NAHC is the Collingwood Town Hall, located at 140 Hoddle Street, Melbourne. We’ll also be utilising the adjacent Djerring Centre and Collingwood Library Meeting Room.
Built in 1887, the Town Hall features spacious facilities—including a huge Art Deco ballroom, mezzanine, and various ‘chill out’ spaces—and is highly accessible. Just a 15 minute drive from Melbourne CBD, the location offers access to limited paid parking, public transport (with Collingwood Railway Station just behind the Town Hall), cafes and restaurants, and accommodation—and we’ll be announcing discount rates for attendees at the nearby Quest Hotel very soon!
Finally, Collingwood Town Hall reputedly has a history of hauntings and eerie occurrences, and we hope to present some of these tales to you over the three days of the convention.

Did you know that NAHC now has a range of merchandise available to purchase through Redbubble?
Well, now you do. Apparel, homewares, accessories, and much more. All appropriately spooky, and all items you’d be happy to be interred with.

Who are Our Guests of Honour?

As previously mentioned, we have two amazing Australian-based horror authors confirmed as Guests of Honour at the National Australian Horror Convention…but we’re not going to tell you who they are just yet! In fact, we won’t be announcing the identity of these guests until the night of August 1st, 2026, at the Masquerade Fundraiser. So, if you want to be one of the first people to find out, be sure to book your Masquerade tickets soon via the link below…

https://www.natozhorrorcon.com/nahc-masquerade

Until then, here’s a few clues to keep you guessing.

• Both guests are VERY well known. If you’re a reader of horror literature, there’s a good chance you’ll have read something penned by one (or both) of these authors.
• Both are recipients of major literary genre awards.
• They both write in a variety of subgenres. One is especially famous for their dark fantasy, as well as delving into truly disturbing supernatural fiction. The other has published tales of occult detectives, killer cryptids, and Australian folk horror.
• Both are very tall, but are not related to Slenderman (as far as we know.)
• Neither live in Victoria, so will be winging their way to NAHC from eldritch realms.

Any guesses? Nope. No, not them either. Guess you’ll just have the wait. Ha. Ha-ha. MWAAAAH-HA-HAAAA!!

Our Program

What do we have planned for the National Australian Horror Convention?

The final program for NAHC won’t be announced until the month leading up to the actual event (April 30 – May 2, 2027) but the Coven will be working away behind the scenes until then, putting together a program designed to delight and horrify any fan of darker fare.

That program is planned to include a range of activities, including (but not restricted to) panels, workshops, competitions, launches, signings, readings and presentations, and will represent a wide variety of horror-related interests, such as literature, film, TV, gaming, graphic novels, art, theatre, music, and more.

We’ll also be endeavouring to represent as many subgenres of horror (and related topics) as possible, so whether you love gothic horror, slashers and serial killers, cosmic horror, monsters, cryptids, paranormal investigations, dark fantasy, extreme horror, the occult, or anything else, there’s bound to be something to whet your unholy appetite.

Additionally, the National Australian Horror Convention will celebrate Diversity and Inclusivity in horror, and our program will reflect this also, with activities planned around Q***r, Multicultural and Indigenous Australian horror, Women and People of Colour in Horror, and much more.

Remember, though, the best events are created by a Community. So…tell us what YOU want to see at the National Australian Horror Convention! Just follow the link below, check out the survey under the 'Get Involved' drop down menu, and tell us what activities and events you’d love us to put on, what categories and subgenres of horror you’d like to see represented, and anything else you think we should consider while putting our program together. You’ll also find questions regarding venue amenities, accommodation offers, and more, so don’t be shy - TELL US WHAT YOU WANT!!
