Our social media presence is used to communicate credible immunisation information. We hope to engage with our audience by creating a positive, inclusive space for people to gather answers and ask questions about immunisation. We welcome questions, commentary and constructive feedback and to ensure everyone has a positive educational experience on our platform, please be aware of the following guidelines for our online community:

- Comments endorsing misinformation or disinformation of any kind will be deleted at our discretion.

- Abusive, threatening, trolling, harassing or hateful speech will not be tolerated.

- Please refrain from sharing unrelated or irrelevant content.

- We love it when you share our posts, however, please make sure you tag us accordingly.

- MVEC content must not be edited or modified (including removing any branding, acknowledgement, authorship or copyright notice) and MCRI retain all intellectual property rights to content.

This week, 18 to 24 October, is Infection Prevention & Control Week! 🎊🥳🎉

This year’s theme is ‘Generations of Infection Prevention. Past. Present. Protected.’

IPC Week aims to promote infection prevention and control practices in health care and recognises the efforts of healthcare workers to reduce the risk of infection in health care services.

👋 The dengue vaccine Qdenga is now available in Australia. Registered by the TGA earlier this year for use in people aged over 4 years, Qdenga has been used overseas since 2022.

💉💉 2 doses 12 weeks apart are required for adequate protection against the dengue virus.

Recommendations are based on:
🥼 occupational risk
🦠 prior infection
🌏 destination of travel
✈️ frequency of travel
🗓️ length of stay in an endemic area.
