Hi, I'm Lydia, founder of Homeschool Academy Tutoring, the Libertarian Candidate for Narre Warren South, and the Victorian Education Policy Spokesperson.
I founded Homeschool Academy because I was a single mum who became an accidental homeschooler. I needed help. I felt overwhelmed, afraid of failing my son, and completely unprepared. The support I felt I needed simply didn't exist, so I created exactly what I needed for my son and our homeschooling journey.
Since then, my passion for children, especially vulnerable children, has grown into something of a warrior spirit. I want change. I want to help our children. I want governments to support families. I want our children to grow into strong, healthy, capable adults.
That's why I decided to step into politics and fight from the inside.
As you can imagine, getting into Parliament won't be easy, but I am determined to give it my very best.
I believe:
โข Children need to be protected.
โข Children should have the freedom to learn in ways that suit them best.
โข Parents should never lose authority over their children. Governments have no right to replace the role of parents.
โข Education needs a complete overhaul.
โข Home education deserves recognition and support.
โข NDIS funding should support educational needs.
There are so many things that need to change. Wishing for change isn't enough. That's why I'm stepping up and stepping in.
