🚨 URGENT: A VERY SPECIAL 9-WEEK-OLD PUPPY NEEDS A FOSTER HOME 🐾❤️

WINSTON - He is only nine weeks old.

He never asked to be born different. He doesn't know there is anything "wrong" with him.

All he knows is that he wants to run, play, grow and use that little leg — and as you can see in the video, he is trying so incredibly hard. 🥺

This beautiful little Greyhound puppy was born without the toe bones on one of his hind legs. His breeder cannot keep him, and we have been asked if we can help.

We desperately want to say YES.

But we can only rescue him if someone is willing to open their home and become his long-term foster carer.

Right now, while he is still so young and growing, there is an opportunity to give that leg every possible chance.

He will need rehabilitation, likely every fortnight, and a specially fitted brace to support his leg as he grows. We won't know what his future looks like — or whether he will ultimately be able to keep the leg permanently — until he is older.

📝The specially made braces will need regular adjustment to follow his growth, this is done at the rehabilitation clinic in Spotswood , thus rehabilitation is also scheduled there 🙏
Not because we arent flexible but with cases like this , there is a group of experts that will support Winston's special need , and so the goal is to make it consistent for Winston's care all throughout his stay with us .
This may incld specialist vet etc whatever is needed for Winston's future.

But that's exactly why what happens now matters so much.

❤️ WE WILL BE WITH YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY.

There is no cost to the foster carer for his approved veterinary care, rehabilitation or equipment.

We will provide his supplies and support, and I will personally be his case manager, working alongside you throughout his journey.

What we need from you is something money can't buy:

🚗 The ability to take him to his rehabilitation appointments approximately every fortnight in📍SPOTSWOOD, Vic. *See note above why Spotswood*

🐾 A willingness to follow his rehabilitation and care plan as he grows
🤝 And someone prepared to work closely with us for the long term

We've walked a journey like this before.

Years ago, we helped a young Kelpie born with significant physical issues. An extraordinary foster carer committed to his rehabilitation, patiently worked with him as he grew and gave him the opportunity his little body needed.

Today, that dog is grown, happy and living a beautiful, full life. ❤️

That's what we want for this little boy.

We don't know what his eventual outcome will be. We can't promise that his leg can be saved.

But we can promise that, if given the opportunity, we will fight alongside him and give him every reasonable chance.

And judging by the determination already inside this tiny nine-week-old body, he's certainly ready to fight too. 🥹🐾

The sooner we can bring him into care, have him properly assessed and begin his rehabilitation, the sooner we can give that leg the best possible opportunity.

Hugo has officially been adopted by his foster family, and we couldn’t be happier for this gorgeous little boy! 🥰
His family absolutely adore him and say he has brought so much joy into their lives. The grandkids come over and absolutely love him, and Hugo is becoming quite the little celebrity at the local cafés, where everyone knows and loves him during his walks and puppachino time! 😆☕️🐶

From his surrender in NSW to being safe, loved and truly home — this is exactly the happy ending we hoped for.

❤️🐾 SHADOW — FROM A SCARED LITTLE DOG TO A GENTLEMAN WHO HAS LEARNED HOW GOOD LIFE CAN BE 🐾❤️

When Shadow arrived at the council pound at 7 years old, he was scared.
Really scared.
He was a tiny 3.5kg Miniature Pinscher who seemed completely overwhelmed by the world around him.

We were told his family could no longer care for him and that he had lived with a cat. That was all we knew.

At the pound, Shadow was so frightened that staff couldn't even put a collar around his neck. He was extremely sensitive about his face and neck being touched, and everything about the noisy, unfamiliar environment seemed too much for him.

And then he came into our care.
❤️ And something beautiful happened.
Shadow slowly started discovering that hands can be gentle.
That a collar doesn't have to be scary.
That people can be kind.
That walks can be about sniffing and exploring instead of speed-walking to get home.
That toys are actually FUN. 😂
That tummy scratches are pretty fantastic.
That sometimes the best part of the day is curling up under a blanket with your person and having a very important nap.

And that perhaps... life isn't so frightening after all.

📝Today, Shadow lovessssss adventuring/exploring the world being active like a true Mini Pinscher, he is not suited for a homebody and thrive in a family environment with another dog or two (or a dog friendly cat or two)🥰😃😍

He will nudge your hand with his little nose when he wants affection. He LOVES ear scratchies and tummy rubs. He's affectionate, cheeky, clever and incredibly food motivated — although he does eat like he's worried someone might take his dinner away, so a slow feeder is definitely his friend! 😂
✅️Crate Trained
✅️House trained & toilet trained
✅️Good with harness and collar and leash & basic obedience
✅️Good tolerance at the vet with his general check up, eventhough not a fan of being touched around the face.
✅️Knows how to be funny & Playful
✅️Big loving ❤️ will give you kisses
✅️A Gentleman , no resource guarding or jealous or possessive behavior. Not destructive or dominant man.

✅️Mix diet of dry and wet premium food and loves his bully stick , kong, etc as his treats *VERY food motivated*
✅️Incredibly smart 👌 😍

He loves his people.
He enjoys a daily walk, some playtime and training, and then he's perfectly happy to curl up and sleep.
He even has two little Chihuahua friends who sometimes convince him to play chasey around the table before everyone collapses on the couch for a rest.

It's honestly the cutest thing. ❤️

🐾 BUT SHADOW STILL NEEDS SOMEONE SPECIAL.

Shadow can feel overwhelmed to other bigger dogs if they get too close in public places *this is him saying he isn't feeling comfortable when they get too close in public. So it is important to expose him to other known dogs that are calm well mannered & balanced and most importantly same /similar size , so he doesn't feel overwhelmed.

He doesn't need someone who will punish him for being uncomfortable.
He needs someone who is confident in giving him guidance , someone who understands him and his preferences.
Someone who notices his body language.
Someone who is happy to create distance when he needs it.
Someone who will advocate for him rather than putting him in situations he's not ready for.
Someone who understands that confidence isn't built overnight.
And someone who will continue the beautiful work his foster family has started.

Because look at how far this little boy has already come. ❤️

We don't know if Shadow had ever really experienced the world before coming into our care. We're not sure if he had ever been taken for walks. We're not sure how much he'd travelled in a car.
We're not sure whether anyone had ever given him toys to play with. And we certainly don't know what happened in his past that made being touched around his face and neck so frightening.

But we do know that Shadow has changed.🥰💪❤️❤️

He has gone from being overwhelmed outside, pulling on his lead and rushing through his walks......to stopping to sniff.
Taking little breaks.Exploring.
Enjoying the world around him.
And trusting his people.

❤️ Now he needs someone to take him the rest of the way.

We're looking for someone who:
🐾 Has experience with small dogs
🐾 Ideally has had Miniature Pinschers or Chihuahuas
