💙 What a heartwarming story! 💙

Nine-month-old twins Artie and Jack from NSW have made history as part of an Australian first, both receiving cochlear implants at the same time. Their journey is a wonderful reminder of how life-changing hearing technology can be for children and their families.

Stories like these highlight the importance of early intervention, support, and ongoing research to help children with hearing loss reach their full potential.

Wishing Artie, Jack, and their family all the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter! 👂✨

An Australian-first eight-hour surgical feat had one main purpose — for Artie and Jack to hear their mum's voice at the same time.

The Kolodziej family need our help! If you’re in the Chelsea area on Saturday pop down to “Family Fresh Butchers”, grab a snag or hamburger.

The St Louis school staff and community are fundraising for Harrison, son of our beautiful colleague and friend Anna and her husband Mark.

Harrison, a Year 11 student at St Bede’s Mentone, has had his whole world turned upside down after what was supposed to be a fun night out with friends resulted in a tragic accident.

The BBQ will be held at Family Fresh Butchers in Chelsea from 8:30am - 2pm on Saturday 6th June.

All funds will go directly to Harrison's ongoing care.

!!!!!🦁🌭 Bunnings BBQ Alert!

A wise person once said, "A man is nothing without a snag on a Sunday morning" — and who are we to argue with that wisdom?

Come grab a sizzling sausage and say g'day to your Melbourne Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Lions Club crew!

We are using the profits from this BBQ to start something special, we have a club branch in the works.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first support group meeting!

It was wonderful to see so many people come together to practice Auslan, enjoy great coffee and connect with one another. We also had the opportunity to hear from David, who shared his personal experience with cochlear implants.

Most importantly, the morning gave us a chance to meet new people, build connections and learn from each other's experiences. We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next gathering!

🐾 Meet Deakin! 🐾

We are excited to introduce Deakin, a beautiful Labradoodle puppy sponsored by our club through Lions Assistance Dogs in the Adelaide Hills.

Deakin has just begun an incredible journey. He will spend the next two years in foster care while undertaking specialised training to become an assistance dog. Depending on his skills and temperament, Deakin may graduate as a hearing assistance dog, a diabetic alert dog, or a psychiatric assistance dog, helping to improve the lives of people living with disability or health challenges.

We are proud to support this life-changing program and look forward to following Deakin’s progress every step of the way.

Stay tuned for regular updates as he grows, learns, and works towards his graduation and placement with someone whose life he will change forever. 💙🐾

Support Alice’s SkyTower Plunge for Lions Australia In The Driver's Seat 💙

Founded by the late Peter Watts from the Warrandyte Lions Club, “In The Driver’s Seat” gives people who are blind or vision-impaired the unforgettable chance to drive a car with trained instructors. 🚗✨

Now, Alice Hawker from the Lions Club of Brighton is taking on a huge challenge to keep the event free for families and carers, jumping 192 metres from Auckland SkyTower on May 28! 🏙️💥

Every dollar raised helps break barriers and create life-changing experiences for the vision-impaired community.
