Horrendous horror this mass killing is being done everywhere as insatiably greedy stupid humans take over the whole planet leaving next to nothing for our so precious wildlife - precious birds kangaroos koalas all being annihilated - the human beast is the most greedy savage and stupid of all species!
The NT Govt has issued this cattle farm a Permit to cull 20,000 corellas whilst they have said they do not want to kill all these birds. Have contact CHERRP who are now back onboard to hopefully help with this!
SHAME NT Govt SHAME FOR ISSUING THIS PERMIT!

A permit to cull 20,000 native birds has been granted to a cattle station in the Northern Territory in response to an "overpopulation" of destructive and "exceptionally noisy" galahs and little corellas.

The Northern Jarrah Forests are being destroyed by bauxite mining, which is now the leading cause of deforestation in the Southwest. When these forests are mined they don’t come back, ever. We must act now to protect them for future generations. Together, we can end forest mining.

EXQUISITE SO PRECIOUS!

I recently spent some time photographing these endangered Gang-gang Cockatoos in Victoria. The adult male has the red "headdress"...such beautiful and unique birds. They were very shy, but I managed to get a few good images. Will post more as I finish editing them. Thank you to Kylie from the Glenrowan Tourist and Caravan Park for her help.

Please help!

Please help!

If you’ve watched Black Cockatoo Crisis you will be aware of the issue with spilled grain on our roads, and the devastating impact on a starving black cockatoo population feeding on that spilled grain. You might also remember Leisa Hutchings as one of the dedicated carers who transports injured black cockatoos across the state, to be healed/rehabilitated at Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre. Leisa has made this urgent call to the public…

Grain trucks on the move are spilling grain on the roads where our hungry black cockatoos will risk their lives to eat the seed. Popular areas such as Cheynes Beach Rd, the road to Ravensthorpe, South Coast Hwy, Chester Pass Rd, is where Leisa has seen these birds killed and injured.

Leisa is after photos of the spilled grain, if possible, the company or number plate of the truck that spilled it, and any dead black cockatoos near the spilled grain or feeding on the spilled grain. If you can stop safely, please shoo the birds away from the spilled grain, which is usually canola. A photo of canola seed will be in the comment section so you know what to look for.

Please send your photos/video with the date, time and place, to Leisa at [email protected]

If you would like to hear more about this issue, Sabrina Hahn spoke about it recently in the first 5 minutes of the Roots & Shoots segment on ABC Radio yesterday: https://www.abc.net.au/listen/programs/rootsandshoots/roots-and-shoots/106540330

Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Everyone

Although word of this came through earlier good to receive Birdlife Australia’s detailed report on the success of their Anti SGARs campaign which ANPPA had supported writing to Bunnings and emails to APVMA, signing petitions and had also lodged a submission joining the public backlash against the unacceptable APVMA final report released in December with its serious lack of actions after taking 4 years to complete their investigation.

Thankfully after the huge public backlash they then reviewed matters introducing better measures to stop the easy access to these so cruel, harmful & so destructive SGARs thereby not only keeping our precious wild Birdlife safe from these cruel mass poisonings etc but also our other precious Wildlife.

BRAVO Birdlife Australia and Supporters on this so important win for all our Wildlife!

We are now urged to add our details to emails to be sent to the Ministers who will take further important steps to regulate these horrific poisons. Have completed for ANPPA etc and urge you to please add your names and share to your circle of contacts to achieve additional important regulatory actions as still more needs to be done.

Many thanks!

Australia is now closer than ever to banning dangerous rodenticides, following two huge recent announcements.
