25% of our much loved public golf course is being removed to create a park (dog toilet) when there is already a sizable park located 20m from the proposed site, that sits empty most of the day.
Removing an entire hole of the golf course for 11% of consultation respondents who wanted a park is not a "shared use" solution.
Over 70% of consultation respondents wanted golf to remain.
The course is seeing record usage at 24,000 rounds played this financial year.
The course is on the verge of turning a profit for council. only $38k required to maintain a 24 hectare site this year.
So why carve it up and ruin the course when the past three years show an increasing upward trend?
It is certainly a business decision that would get you sacked in any workplace. Or send you broke as a business owner.

There are only three days left to complete the Darebin City Council consultation on the future of Northcote Public Golf Course.
Please, please, please head to our website and help us to complete the consult PRO GOLF.

Tell DCC that golf must remain the primary function of the site.
We are not opposed to change, we support the Northcote Community & Golf Hub vision for real shared use, that does not exclude the golf community and better public engagement at the site.

An absolute scourge of public golf courses.
It's simple and takes no time at all.
Repair your own and at least 2 others.

If you repair a pitch mark badly it can actually do a lot more harm than if you had left it alone, so it's essential you know how to do it correctly
