Irish filmmaker Seán Murray investigates Israel’s killings of journalists in his new feature documentary Journacide: The War on Truth. He says the term “journacide” applies to Israel’s military actions because of the “explicit nature of the targeting and killing of journalists” as a way to silence the truth. “The Israeli forces are attacking Gaza with a green light from the United States,” said Gaza-based political analyst Thabet Al-Amour. “[Israel] has managed to domesticate the mediators, the international community, and the sponsors of the agreement, who fail to exert pressure or even reproach Israel.

“At least before the ceasefire, the cause remained at the forefront of Arab, Islamic, and American public opinion,” Al-Amour continued. “However, Israel is exploiting the political cover of a ceasefire while the slaughter and genocide continue unabated.”

Israel has escalated its airstrikes across the enclave in recent weeks, burning Palestinians alive as it makes a mockery of the ‘ceasefire.’

The so-called “ceasefire” agreed last October between Israel and Hamas gave birth to a phenomenon that has not stopped haunting Gaza’s residents: the “Yellow Line.” It was supposed to delineate the boundary of Israel’s occupation of Gaza’s territory, prior to a phased withdrawal as the ceasefire progressed. But instead of withdrawing, Israeli forces are advancing.

Pushing to seize 70 percent of Gaza’s territory, the Israeli army is opening fire at Palestinian civilians caught off guard by the ever-expanding ‘Yellow Line.’
