2026 MMF Fellow Spotlight - Daniel Casey

Welcome back!!

Daniel is a passionate young violist returning to Megalong Music Festival for its second year.

His musical journey began with a love for singing, performing as a chorister with the Young Voices of Melbourne and later the Australian Boys Choir.

However, it wasn’t until 2016, while studying at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS), that Daniel discovered his true passion for the viola. Under the guidance of Lisa Grosman and Chris Cartlidge, he developed a deep love for the instrument and the collaborative nature of chamber music, which motivated him to pursue a professional music career.

So glad to have you back, Daniel. Here’s to another round!

2026 MMF Fellow Spotlight - Arjun Singh

MMF warmly welcomes AJ to the fellows family!

AJ is an Adelaide-based cellist, currently completing a Bachelor of Music in Advanced Classical Performance at the Elder Conservatorium, studying with Professor Edith Salzmann.

A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School, Aj has received numerous accolades and has participated in several masterclasses and academies in Singapore, France, and Italy.

We cannot wait to see what AJ brings to the MMF Fellows Program for 2026!

2026 MMF Fellows Spotlight - Jeremy & Leon Spikmans

Double the trouble? At MMF, it’s double the fun!

Jeremy and Leon are brothers from Mount Riverview in the Blue Mountains who have profited immensely from the wealth of fine musicians in this area.

They have enjoyed success performing together with high points being Featured (double) Soloists in the NSW Primary Proms and concerto soloists with the Blue Mountains’ Orpheus Strings, playing Vivaldi’s double cello concerto.

And now they join us at MMF as fellows for 2026! You won’t want to miss out on seeing these two perform!

2026 MMF Fellow Spotlight - Maggie Zeng

Welcome to the MMF Fellows family Maggie!

Maggie is a passionate violinist studying under Dr Evgeny Sorkin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

An active orchestral musician, she has performed with the Australian Youth Orchestra, served as concertmaster of the NSW Arts Unit Orchestra, and will appear as concerto soloist with the Penrith Symphony Orchestra in March 2026.

We look forward to having Maggie in MMF’s 2026 Fellows Program!

2026 MMF Fellow Spotlight - Reuben Johnson

Introducing Reuben, an Australian pianist and organist who has repeatedly proven himself as a versatile and sensitive musician in both collaborative and solo endeavours.

Reuben is currently the organist at Newman College, Melbourne, where he sees frequent solo appearances on both piano and organ, as well as regular work with the college choir.

We’re thrilled to have Reuben on board for MMF’s 2026 season!

2026 MMF Fellow Spotlight - Ellen Choung

We are delighted to introduce Ellen, one of the talented fellows joining MMF for 2026!

Ellen grew up in Sydney, Australia, and began learning violin at age four. An active collaborator, she has performed in orchestras including the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Apex and regularly performs as a casual musician with the Opera Australia Orchestra.

Ellen is excited to collaborate and perform with fellow musicians at the 2026 Megalong Music Festival Fellows Program, exploring both traditional and contemporary repertoire.
