At 4:23 pm on Fri 28th Nov Meerschaum Vale was called to a pole fire at Whites Lane Alstonville. Alstonville 7 and Essential Energy also attended.

The next meeting of the Meerschaum Vale RFS is Wednesday 3rd Dec at the fire station at 7 pm followed by a small Xmas celebration. All members and their partners are invited to attend to mark the end of another year. As normal there will be no meeting in January although the brigade will still be be on call.

On Mon 24th Nov at 8:59 am Meerschaum Vale was called to an MVA on the motorways north of Wardell following a police chase where the vehicle being persued collided with another car. The driver being persued crashed off a slip road and ran off into the bush. Wardell 1 was already on scene, the damaged car was moved off the motorway and the road cleared of debris.

Total fire ban tomorrow Mon 27th Oct due to forecast extreme fire danger.

Due to a high fire danger fire permits are suspended for Wed 22nd Oct.

Due to elevated fire danger, all fire permits will be suspended for 24 hours from midnight tonight covering Thur 2nd Oct.

The fire danger period has officially started so all outdoor fires will require a fire permit with a few exceptions such as small cooking fires. Permits can be obtained online at https://nswrfsprod.service-now.com/guardian_csp
A site visit or photographic evidence may be required by the permit issuing officer. Once a permit is issued and prior to lighting, twenty four hours notice must be provided to all neighbours and the permit notification line.

At 7:57 pm on Tuesday 30th Sept Meerschaum Vale was called to a grass fire at Rous caused by a downed power line, fortunately Essential Energy had arrived disconnected the power and stamped out the fire so just a mop up was required.

Next Wednesday night 1st October is our monthly meeting, 7 pm at our fire shed, 1004 Wardell Rd, Meerschaum Vale. This also marks the start of fire season requiring fire permits for all but exempt fires such as cooking fires. As always community members are welcome to attend.
