We visit various indigenous communities around WA completing service projects and kids clubs! Every year four different groups of like-minded people join together and travel up north to work in the indigenous communities of Mullewa, Cue, Wiluna and Meekatharra. This is the page of the Meekatharra team. Every year we take a week out of our personal lives, leaving our jobs and families to serve the
community of Meekatharra. We run a children's program for the local kids, sharing the love of God through songs, stories, craft and fun. We show the community what it means to be children of God, not through words, but through action. We go there with no agenda, no walls, no boundaries and no expectations. We arrive there and things may change. We may have planned to paint the school but instead we clean the streets, we talk to the elderly. We are there to do what is needed, not what we think is needed but what is needed. Storm Co is hard at times, having to see the lives of children who do not know love, people who live without purpose and without God. We see children who come from abusive homes or from homes with mentally and emotionally absent parents. At times it is heart wrenching and at times it is the most beautiful thing. To paint a kid's face and to see the look in their eyes as they see the butterfly on the cheek. To see the look of happiness in their eyes when you give them a hug. The warming feeling when you return the next year and they tell you that they have missed you and remember your name, even though you have forgotten theirs. Storm Co is about making lasting change in a short time, it is leaving the impression that someone cares, that there is something else out there that loves them more than anything. That is what Storm Co is.
