Griffith Sport is excited to launch a brand-new 7-a-side Soccer 🥅competition at Logan this October, and we’d love to see you on the field!

Whether you’re a Griffith student, staff member, alumnus, or part of the wider Logan community, everyone is welcome to join in.

It’s a great way to stay active, meet new people, and enjoy some friendly competition.

What is 7-a-side Soccer? It’s a fun, fast-paced version of the traditional game played on a smaller field with smaller goals.

The format is designed to keep the action moving, with:
⚽️Unlimited substitutions
⚽️No offsides
⚽️Kick-ins instead of throw-ins
⚽️No slide tackles

Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking for a social way to stay active, this competition is all about having fun and being part of the community.

Expect powerful performances, cultural pride, delicious food stalls, local talent, and that special wairua that makes Waitangi at Twilight one of our most loved community events.

A night of pride, celebration, and history for our Te Korowai whānau.

On 28 August 2026, our incredible President, Mary Ngarongo Bartlett‑Johnston, was honoured with the Minister’s Multicultural Award – Queensland - a prestigious acknowledgment of her lifelong dedication to Māori, Pasifika and multicultural communities across the state.

As Founder and President of Te Korowai Aroha, Mary has created a true “home away from home” for families settling in Australia, ensuring culture, identity and belonging remain at the heart of community life. Her leadership continues to uplift, unite and empower our people.

The awards event was absolutely spectacular - filled with powerful cultural performances, talent, and community spirit. Our Te Korowai committee was deeply honoured to attend and witness Mary’s well‑deserved recognition.

A huge thank you to Mayor Jon Raven Affairs Queensland, the Government, Simpson MP, Mayor Jon Raven, and everyone involved in delivering such a meaningful and beautifully organised celebration.

We are so proud of you, Mary. He wahine toa, he rangatira. Your aroha and service shine brightly across Queensland.

🌿🖤♥️🤍Waitangi at Gold Coast 2026🤍♥️🖤🌿

After postponing dates and finally settling on March 1, we were all still watching the skies and hoping for the best. South East Queensland weather can keep you guessing — but today, we woke to sunshine 🌅 Apart from a few light showers, the whole day was absolute bliss☀️

Our amazing stallholders were on site from 6am, setting up with so much energy and commitment. From there, everything just naturally fell into place. This was our first time hosting Waitangi at Gold Coast as TE KOROWAI AROHA BRISBANE & Mozzy Foundation but our experienced team did what they do best — calm, organised, and full of heart💚

And the community showed up. In numbers. In spirit. In aroha.

Thanks to our team, our entertainment, our vendors, and our whānau, Waitangi at Gold Coast 2026 was a hit. The feedback has been beautiful — full of pride, gratitude, and excitement for what’s ahead.

Thank you to Dean Harawira and Vanessa Hapi for keeping our stage alive with amazing entertainment and good vibes 🎵 🎶 🎤

The Dinky D's Events Train was a crowd favourite, and we hope everyone’s puku and hearts are full after a day of kai, culture, connection, and sunshine.
