We’re looking for volunteers for Meadowbrook parkrun this Saturday, 10 October.
A Timekeeper, Finish Tokens, Marshal, and Photographer would be wonderful!

Whether you’re a volunteering veteran or giving it a go for the first time, you are welcome at our friendly event. Meadowbrook parkrun has the friendliest bunch of people, and you’ll no doubt have a wonderful morning. 💛

What a wonderful morning at Meadowbrook parkrun #471! 💜 It is certainly warming up.

We welcomed 92 participants to Meadowbrook parkrun for another great morning, with everyone contributing to the friendly atmosphere that makes Meadowbrook so special. Together, our participants covered an impressive 460 kilometres – that’s a lot of walking, jogging, running, chatting and encouraging! 👏

A big welcome to our 15 first timers with 6 people experiencing their very first parkrun and another 9 visiting Meadowbrook for the first time. I think there was a few kept quite about that at the run brief. We hope you enjoyed your morning with us and that we’ll see you again soon.

There were 13 personal bests achieved today – congratulations to everyone who reached a new PB! 🎉 Whether it was your fastest parkrun yet, a small improvement, or simply getting around the course when it wasn't easy, every achievement is worth celebrating.

We also had three participant milestones reached today. 🥳 Tom reached 50 runs and Robert and Kirby reached 25. Congratulations, we hope you enjoyed the occasion!

💜 A huge thank you to our volunteers Sami, Daniel, Emily, Grant, Tracy, Kelly, Marg, Bobby, Rebecca and Mary. parkrun simply wouldn’t happen without our amazing volunteers, and today we had 10 wonderful people helping make the event possible. From setting up and keeping everyone safe to scanning barcodes, encouraging participants and helping everything run smoothly, your time and enthusiasm make a huge difference. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do for our Meadowbrook community.

And, of course, congratulations to everyone who took part today. Whether you ran, jogged, walked, volunteered, supported a friend, brought along a first timer or simply came down to enjoy the morning – you are what makes Meadowbrook parkrun the community it is. 💜

🌳💚 Tutus, Colours and 22 Years of parkrun! 💚🌳

This Saturday we're celebrating 22 amazing years of parkrun and we'd love for our Meadowbrook community to join the fun!

The worldwide parkrun journey began in 2004 with just 13 participants and 5 volunteers at Bushy Park in London. Fast forward 22 years and parkrun has grown into a global movement spanning 23 countries, more than 2,800 locations, over 12 million registrations, one million volunteers and one million events. Through it all, one thing has never changed: parkrun remains free, weekly and for everyone.

To help celebrate, we encourage everyone to wear a tutu this weekend. If you don't have one, feel free to wear something bright and colourful instead. And if dressing up isn't your thing, that's perfectly okay too. Come as you are. Whether you're walking, jogging, running or volunteering, you're part of what makes parkrun special.

🙌 We're also still looking for a marshal or two to complete this week's volunteer roster. If you'd like to help create a safe and welcoming event for everyone, we'd love to hear from you. Marshals are our cheer squad on course and play an important role in helping participants have a great morning.

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, participants, visitors and supporters who help make Meadowbrook parkrun such a welcoming community each week.

We can't wait to celebrate 22 years of parkrun with you on Saturday. Tutu or no tutu, everyone is welcome! 🎉💚

Hi Meadowbrook community. We are in need of a Marshall, or two, and a photographer for this Saturday 3/10. If you would like to volunteer in the coming weeks too they are looking quite bare.
