: In another big win for wildlife, has announced it will remove all second-generation rat poisons (SGARs) from shelves by 30 June 2026, following the regulator’s updated recommendation for a full retail ban of these wildlife-killing poisons

This comes 9 months ahead of the mandated deadline for their removal.

The decision follows a petition from near 40,000 of our supporters calling on Bunnings to act. Your signatures and tags have helped make Bunnings the first retailer to commit to removing SGARs from shelves.

Removing these long-lasting poisons as soon as possible is a critical step for protecting wildlife, helping to reduce further deaths while these recommendations are finalised.

We thank Bunnings for taking this step and hope it encourages Woolworths, Mitre 10, Coles and other retailers to follow suit as soon as possible.

Let's keep the good news rolling 😎🦉

WA is lagging the rest of Australia in keeping both Cats & Wildlife Safe

We did it! Today I introduced a bill to create a responsibility for cat owners to keep cats inside and out of the way of native wildlife.

The bill will require cat owners to take reasonable steps to prevent their pets from roaming, and introduce a tiered fine system to encourage community education and cultural change.

NSW is shamefully behind the rest of Australia when it comes to managing roaming cats as a harmful and invasive species, and the parliament has an obligation to act.

Pet cats are estimated to have killed over 62 million native animals in 2024 - just in Sydney - this is a shocking number and a significant contributor to the decline of our precious and unique wildlife across the landscape.

We also now know cats are so much healthier and happier when they are safe and contained.

Now I need your help to persuade other political parties in New South Wales to care about our native wildlife - join our campaign and send an email to the Premier and Ministers now!
