🚒 A huge thank you from everyone at the Maude CFA to all the amazing people who helped make our Trash & Treasure Day such a fantastic success!

From the volunteers who rolled out of bed before sunrise to set everything up and get the bacon & eggs sizzling, to all the stall holders who brought along great gear and friendly faces, and everyone who came out to support the day — thank you.

The community spirit on display was something special. 🌭☕🚒

Days like these simply don’t happen without the support of hardworking volunteers, local businesses, families, and community members who turn up and get involved. We’re incredibly grateful for the effort, laughs, conversations, and support throughout the day.

Thank you all for helping make it such a ripper of a day for the Maude community! 🔥

The Rain has passed looks like its going to be a great day for the Maude Trash and Treasure come down from 9am for a snag and a bargin.

We have been informed the burn for Meredith is now in progress.

Planned burning crews are currently lighting this burn - flames and smoke may be visible. This process will take a few hours for small burns and grassland burns. Larger burns, and burns in forested areas, may take a day or multiple days to ignite.

Crews are patrolling the burn as it spreads inside the control lines.

The burn may produce embers that cause short distance spotting and crews are checking for these.

Note that some burns are carried out in stages, with part of the burn completed, and crews returning later to carry out further work within the burn area. If so, you will receive notifications when the burn is once again scheduled to be carried out.

We’re currently doing planned burning to keep Victoria safer from bushfires.

📍Meredith – Byrne Road (66 hectares)
📍Beaufort – Barton Track (160 hectares)
📍Halls Gap – heap burns (1 hectare)
📍Dunkeld – Cooks Road (216 hectares)
📍Grampians National Park – Mount Zero Road (130 hectares)

Without planned burning and other fuel management works, bushfires will be bigger and harder for our firefighters to control.

If weather and forest conditions are suitable, firefighters from the Midlands District will ignite the Meredith – Byrne Road planned burn on Monday 20 April.

The 66 hectares burn is being undertaken to reduce risk of bushfire to Meredith and surrounding communities.

The burn will be ignited over one day. FFMVic crews will continue to patrol and monitor in the days following.

🚧There will be traffic management controllers and speed restrictions in place along the Meredith-Steiglitz Road.
