๐ CAROLS ON THE GREEN - VOLUNTEER EXPRESSSIONS OF INTEREST๐
Dear Glendore Public School Families,
We hope everyone is staying safe and dry in this wet weather โ
Monday officially marks the first day of winter which can only mean two things:
๐งฃ Heavy jackets and beanies are backโฆ
โ๏ธ And summer (and Christmas!) is only 6 months away!
With that in mind, we are excited to announce that a date has now been set for our annual Carols on the Green ๐ถโจ Thursday, 26 November 2026!
This event is such a special night for our school community and, from all accounts, last yearโs event was a huge success. It was a wonderful evening filled with community spirit, and on a personal note, it was incredibly rewarding to be part of bringing it all together.
This year, we would love a few extra hands on deck.
Before we formally commit, we are seeking expressions of interest from volunteers to help in a few key areas:
๐ Pre-Event Organisation
Donโt let the title scare you! A lot of the groundwork has already been done over the past few years, particularly last year, so this will largely be a โrinse, wash, repeatโ process. The P&C Executive Team will work alongside volunteers and split tasks between us. Think making showbags, helping to call from raffle donations, social media posts (if that is your skill set); helping organise pre-orders.
๐ ๏ธ Set Up Crew
We are looking for helpers on the day to assist with:
โข collecting ice
โข setting up stalls and marquees
โข putting drinks on ice
โข organising snacks and supplies
โข general event preparation before guests arrive
๐ญ BBQ Legends Wanted
If you pride yourself on cooking a mean sausage, we want you! We are looking for a few BBQ extraordinaires to help cook on the night. With enough helpers, we can work on a roster system.
๐๏ธ P&C Stall & BBQ Service
Help serve at the BBQ and P&C stall, including assisting with raffle ticket sales during the event.
๐งน Pack Down Crew
At the end of the evening, we will also need volunteers to help pack away equipment, tidy the area, dismantle stalls and marquees, and assist with general clean up.
As you can see, you do not need to commit to everything โ even helping in one area makes a huge difference. We do ask that if you volunteer, you stay the course where possible, as it helps enormously with planning and organisation. Of course, we understand that life happens from time to time.
If you can assist in any of the above areas, please contact our Secretary, Jacqui, at [email protected] before Week 9 so we can make a final decision regarding our commitment to the event before the end of Term 2. We can them come back to Volunteers shortly after our meeting in week 9 with more details. However, please do not hestiate to reach out if you have any questions in the meantime.
Thank you in advance for helping us create another wonderful community event for our school โค๏ธ
