Welcome to The Prospectors Kit (TPK), an archive of historic maps, plans and imagery of the goldfields of Victoria, Australia. This project has required countless hours of research and extensive image restoration. AI touchups, blemish removal, colourisation, cropping, sharpening and stitching are a time-consuming process so please bare with me. TPK resources have been provided in high-resolution q
uality where possible and reviewed to ensure they are either out-of-copyright or approved content. The Prospectors Kit has been years in the making and is based on my own prospecting experiences and endlessly growing personal research kit. It has proven invaluable in my search for gold and relics and now contains resources on 362 areas around Victoria including cities, suburbs, towns and lesser known or historical goldfields. Collections for major goldfields will be featured from time to time on this page and the 'Photos' section allows you to navigate to individual folders for images, maps and plans for each goldfield. These albums contain direct links to TPK resources hosted on my Google Drive. If not for the generosity and guidance shown to me over the years by some of the best and brightest in the Australian prospecting community, The Prospectors Kit would not exist. My hope and aim is to provide assistance to new and veteran prospectors alike, the way others have taught (and still teach!) me. I'd like to extend my gratitude to those who have created treasured restorations of historical images, maps and plans and allowed for these to be shared in TPK. Accreditations have been provided to these contributors where due. Finally, to all my family and friends who have supported me with this project, thankyou for providing the motivation to see it through!
