Wildflowers Youth aims to bless girls in our community. We gift fun and faith-based pamper packs and formal dresses. Luke 12:27

We also host workshops and pamper parties. Please message to donate items or collaborate with us.

Some photos from the formal dress workshop for girls in foster care at the Inspiring Hope camp last week!! Wildflowers provided new and as new formal dresses and accessories for the girls to choose from, try on and keep. It’s wonderful being able to help the girls feel like princesses and celebrate their educational achievements too. 👗

This was a two part event following a pamper party. All 50+ girls were also gifted a Wildflowers mini pamper pack each to take home. 🎀

Some photos from the pamper party for girls in foster care at the Inspiring Hope camp this week!! Wildflowers provided pamper party supplies for painting nails, sheet mask facials, hair styling and bracelet making. All 50+ girls were also gifted a Wildflowers mini pamper pack each to take home. 💖

This afternoon Wildflowers Youth Founder Bethany attended an interesting webinar: ‘The Role of Allyship in Child Sexual Abuse Prevention’ hosted by the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

These were some notes I took during the presentation:

- Research shows that children often reach out for help from the adults around them and their responses can minimise, deny or normalise what is happening.
- Adult responses to disclosures are impacted by social contexts such as patriarchal norms, beliefs that children lie and the ‘ick factor’.
- Primary prevention strategies include Working with Children Checks, mandatory reporting and Stop it Now helpline.
- Therapy is only one part of a long term healing journey.
- Allyship must include reporting and supporting children who make disclosures.
- Research shows many community members don’t know how to report or support children who make disclosures, including professionals working with children.
- “Children have the quietest voice and the least amount of power in the situation”. Community members have the ability to stand with and advocate for children.
- “Making child safety everyone’s business“.
- Professionals and volunteers need ongoing training and confidence talking about and responding to child sexual abuse.
- We must challenge concerning behaviour and attitudes by asking questions.
- It is important to teach children about body safety, consent and autonomy.
- Children need reassurance that abuse is not their fault and help to make sense of what’s happened to them.

These are some of the mini Wildflowers pamper packs headed out tomorrow for girls in foster care at the Inspiring Hope October camp!! There will also be a Bible verse card each and a choice of formal dresses for the older girls. 💖

Supplies are packed and ready for a special workshop this week for girls in foster care at the next Inspiring Hope camp!! 🌸

The bags include supplies for a pamper party with nails, sheet face masks, hair styling, bracelet making and decorations. There are TONNES of formal dresses, plus some shoes and accessories, for the older girls to choose to take home. There are also mini paper packs for every girl. ✨

Morgan and Kaileigh from Hallelujah Ministries will kindly be hosting the workshop whilst Bethany is on maternity leave with new baby. 💖

Preparing Wildflowers mini pamper packs for girls in foster care at the Inspiring Hope camp NEXT WEEK!! 💖

These mini pamper packs have a mix of toiletries and fun pamper items, plus stickers and bible verse cards. We hope they make the girls smile! ☺️

We will also be providing a choice of formal dresses for the girls in Year 10-12. 👗

A big thank you to everyone who has donated items! We have started collecting brand new gifts for girls in foster care for Christmas if you would like to support our next project.✨

Wishing our older Wildflowers girls all the best with their exams. We believe it’s so important to encourage and inspire ALL girls to engage positively with their education and follow their individual dreams for their futures! 👩🏻‍🎓👩🏼‍🔬👩🏽‍🎨👩🏾‍🚀
