FEAST DAY OF SAINT TITUS OF CRETE 🇬🇷🇦🇺
Today, the Cretan Association of Sydney & NSW proudly celebrated the Feast Day of Saint Titus, the First Bishop of Crete, at St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, Marrickville.
A special procession was held with the Icon of Saint Titus, accompanied by the newly elected Committee of the Cretan Association of Sydney & NSW and dancers dressed in traditional Cretan costume.
The Icon of Saint Titus was gifted three years ago by His Eminence Archbishop Eugenios of Crete and, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, will now be permanently kept at St Nicholas Church in Marrickville. 🙏🏼
During the service, Fr Eirinaios Trialonakis, himself a Cretan, spoke beautifully about the importance of passing down the customs and traditions of Crete to the next generation, but importantly, also passing down the faith of Crete. Celebrations such as today are a wonderful example of this.
A special thank you to Fr Eirinaios and the Parish of St Nicholas for warmly welcoming our Association, Committee, dancers, members and families for this important celebration.
Χρόνια Πολλά! 🙏🏼🇬🇷
