Our immense congratulations go to Kit Kelen, the inaugural Southerly Poetry Prize winner!

Kit will receive a cash prize of $2000 AUD, with his winning poem published in Southerly 81.1 in October 2026. Along with all shortlisted entries, β€œNow ● Here ● This” will also be published in Southerly online.

Kit Kelen’s My First Forest of Words exhibition opened last Saturday at the Stirrup Gallery, during the Addi Road Writers Festival, with a sharp and generous introduction from Brook Emery.

The room was filled with writers, artists, poets, and friends!
