Margate Community Food Pantry

A community service to help people in need have access to low priced or free food and grocery items. Food and grocery donations from the community are welcome.

The Margate Community Food Pantry is a community service which started on Wednesday the 19th of June. The purpose of the service is to provide access to low priced and some free groceries to ensure food security for people and families in need. The Food Pantry operates on the not-for-profit principle and is run by volunteers. We source most of our food and groceries from Foodbank Tasmania in bulk

at low cost and make the items available by only charging a low handling fee so we can cover our costs of running the service. The service will be operating out of the Margate Seventh-day Adventist church hall at 17 Crescent Drive every Wednesday between 10.30 am and 12.00 noon.

The Margate Community Food Pantry will be open again this Wednesday from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon to provide food security for our community. This week our free fruit and veg include potatoes, apples, onions, ginger, swedes and possibly some more as we are able to source. Free bread as usual plus some other free food items and also a selection of groceries at low cost.
Our doors open at 10.30 with our volunteers ready to serve!😊

A big thank you to Sanitarium Health Food Company AU for donating a number cases of Weet-Bix and So Good soy milk to the Margate Community Food Pantry! The products have proven very popular and we have more available to give away this Wednesday. We also have free potatoes, onions, swedes and other fruit and veg. Plus low cost groceries.
We are here to serve people in our community who are struggling with the cost of living and to help provide food security. We're open every Wednesday from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.

The Margate Community Food Pantry will be open again this Wednesday to serve our community. Our times of opening are 10.30 am to 12.00 noon every Wednesday. At this time of high cost of living we are here to provide access to food items that are either free or low cost.
This week our free fruit and veggies include carrots, pink potatoes, swedes, onions, mandarins and more. We have free bread and some free frozen vegetables. Plus a variety of low cost groceries as we can source them.
A reminder that our pre-loved clothing op shop will also be open.

This week we have red potatoes, swedes, onions and other fruit and veg, all free. We also have some free chilled products and frozen vegetables. And free bread as always. Plus a range of low cost groceries.
The Margate Community Food Pantry will be open this Wednesday again from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon to help people impacted by the cost of living.

Our volunteers will be ready serve you with a smile again this coming Wednesday. The Margate Community Food Pantry will be open from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon. 🙂

The pre-loved clothing op-shop will also be open during the same hours. Nothing more than $2.00.

This week we have a nice variety of frozen veggies. We stocked up thanks to a generous donation from the CWA Tasmania - Kingston and Channel Branch (thank you CWA!)

We also have some fresh fruit and veggies for free too! Potatoes, carrots, red capsicum, onions and more.

Plus low cost groceries and pre-loved clothing.

The Margate Community Food Pantry is here to help offer food security for people in our community who are struggling with the cost of living. We're open every Wednesday from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.

This week was the two year anniversary of when we first opened. A big thank you to all our volunteers who have helped make things happen. And also to everyone who has supported us over the last two years.
We look forward to serving our community again this coming Wednesday from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon.

This Wednesday we have capsicums, potatoes, onions, carrots to give away plus more to support our community. Our range of low cost groceries includes breakfast cereals, nappies, and other food and non-food items.
The Margate Community Food Pantry will be open from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon on Wednesday as usual. 🙂
