From extreme weather events and economic disruptions to changing social and environmental conditions, communities are facing increasing uncertainty.

Time and time again, research and lived experience tells us that connected and prepared communities are better equipped to respond, adapt and recover when challenges arise πŸŒ€

And the best time to build community resilience? Before it's needed ⚑

Join us for an evening of conversation and connection as we explore how communities across the Cape region can build resilience and preparedness for the challenges (and opportunities) ahead.

When systems are stretched beyond capacity, communities become the frontline. But how do we move beyond responding to disasters and start building resilience before they happen?

Floodland tells the story of communities navigating the devastating 2022 Lismore floods, highlighting grassroots leadership, mutual aid, First Nations healing practices, and the collective power that emerges in times of crisis.

The film also shines an important light on climate justice, recognising that climate-driven disasters disproportionately impact those already facing social, economic, and structural disadvantage.

Together, we'll explore the role of community-led resilience and what we need to focus on building now to ensure that when disruptions occur, no one is left behind.

A big thank you to David Keogh for sponsoring this event and making it possible to offer this community screening free of charge πŸ™Œ

Thrilled to have been able to spend some time with after her appearance at the Margaret River Readers and Writers Festival.

If you haven't got your hands on her book, Women Who Win, yet, this is your reminder to do so now.

F**k the patriarchy πŸ’₯ and let our voices and power rise with our grief and rage as we mourn the latest victims of femicide here in so-called Australia - five women and two children murdered at the hands of men in just the last two weeks alone. Vale sweet babes 🌹

We had a full room at last Thursday's screening of Abby Martin's Earth's Greatest Enemy, with almost 70 people coming together to explore the connections between climate collapse and the US military-industrial complex. Thank you to everyone who came. It was a powerful evening filled with connection, education and opportunities for action.

Big big thanks to our wonderful speakers who came from Perth, Denmark and the USA to join us. Dr Peter Underwood from , Sam Wainwright from and Jessica Burbank

Gratitude to our volunteers who hustled hard behind the scenes and on the night, to Ellie from for mc-ing, and to the crew at Rosa Glen Farm for supporting the event.

What’s next? Well last Thursday we thought global, now it’s time to act local ⚑

1. Stay informed and speak up by contacting your local representatives, asking questions, and demanding transparency in decisions that affect your community.

2. Support grassroots campaigns, sign petitions, and get involved with local conservation and advocacy groups (listed below).

3. Talk with friends, family, and colleagues to help keep awareness growing.
