Cameras are rolling on homegrown actor Dacre Montgomery’s directorial debut, with feature film The Engagement Party kicking off production in WA 🎥

Written by Jory Anast, the film delves into the history of four friends who reunite on a secluded island to celebrate a momentous occasion before a conflicting memory threatens to tear their relationships apart.

The film stars WA actor and WAAPA graduate Dacre Montgomery (Stranger Things, Elvis), alongside Lily Sullivan (Evil Dead Rise, Picnic at Hanging Rock), Abbey Lee (Black Rabbit, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Arlo Green (M3GAN, Nautilus).

Our Road- an independent feature film is about to start rolling their cameras!!! 🎥 🎬

The film will be entirely filmed in the Margaret River region by a local volunteer crew made up of high school students as well as passionate community members. The film is seeking a little extra support to put the finishing touches in place to make this story shine on the big screen.

Joshua Yates, the writer, producer and director is a multi award winning filmmaker at just 18 years old. He is embedded in the community, a fourth generation local, who volunteers in a range of organisations including Wallcliffe Volunteer Fire Brigade, Margaret River SES, CinefestOZ, and Arts Margaret River.

Our Road explores the mental health challenges of YA love in a romance drama, an important and universal story connecting with younger audiences.
