Mareeba Multicultural Festival A celebration of the rich multiculturalism which defines the Mareeba Shire. Since 1999. You are guaranteed a magnificent day in Mareeba’s Arnold Park.

The Mareeba Multicultural Festival is coming to Mareeba on Saturday, 30 August 2025 from 10am to 4pm! Celebrating multiculturalism since 1999, the Mareeba Multicultural Festival will feature non-stop entertainment and incredible food from more than 20 stalls. Entry is free! The Mareeba Shire is home to people from some 75 different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, and this festival celebrat

es this diversity, and harmony. The festival is planned for a sunny, cool August day and attendees enjoy the near perfect weather. The festival is supported by generous sponsors who make the day-long lucky door prizes possible. Winners must be present at the time of the draw.

$2 raffle tickets will also be available to purchase, come and say hello to us at the Committee tent on the day for your chance to win great prizes. The winners do not have to be present at the time of the draw, we will contact you. Whether it’s your first festival, or fifteenth, come along and join the celebration!

Spell Check – We Need Your Help! 👋

A sincere thank you to everyone who shared their feedback during the consultation period in May and June for the proposed Multicultural Welcome Sign.

We carefully considered the input received from the community and have incorporated additional translations and interpretations of the word 'Welcome' (see picture).
Now we need your help to verify the spelling of the languages featured on the sign.

What's next?
Following the initial consultation process, Mareeba Shire Council secured funding through the Queensland Government's Multicultural Connect Grants Program to deliver the Arnold Park Multicultural Recreation and Event Space, Mareeba initiative.

The Multicultural Welcome sign will form part of this broader project. Designed to celebrate the many cultures that make up our region, the Welcome Sign will enhance Arnold Park as a welcoming, inclusive and vibrant space that reflects the diversity of our community.

We look forward to installing the new sign at Arnold Park soon.

The Mareeba Multicultural Festival committee would like to pass on our sincere condolences after learning of the passing of Daniel Luta.

Daniel was a beloved performer at the Festival, performing freestyle rap and was a highlight in the program.

Three years ago, Daniel formed and coached a Men’s grassroots Indigenous rugby league team from his wheelchair, bringing together men in our community through sport, connection, and support.

The team not only honours those we’ve lost, but also provides a positive outlet for men in the community and celebrates cultural connection.

In Daniels memory, the team will be going to the Bindal Sharks Indigenous All Blacks Carnival in Townsville, 9-11 October 2026, representing Mareeba and celebrating community, culture, and his legacy.
