The mystery is almost over!

Join us this Thursday, 3 September at the Delatite Hotel, Mansfield for the Reveal of the 2026 Three Faces Portrait Prize.

We’ll finally reveal our mystery sitter and introduce the three selected finalist artists who will each create a portrait of the sitter in the medium of their choice.

And there’s plenty at stake!

$2,000 Acquisitive Prize — proudly sponsored by Mansfield Shire Council.

The winning portrait will be acquired by Mansfield Shire Council and become part of the growing Three Faces collection. Two runner-up artists will each receive $250.

Come along for a cocktail-style evening, enjoy complimentary finger food and drinks at bar prices, and be among the first to discover who will be taking part in this year’s competition.

The Reveal — Three Faces Portrait Prize 2026

On Thursday 3 September, join us at the Delatite Hotel, Mansfield for the first major event of the 2026 Three Faces Portrait Prize.

Who is the sitter?
Who are the three selected artists?
And what will they create?

At The Reveal, we’ll introduce the 2026 sitter and reveal the three finalist artists who have been selected to create their portrait. Each artist will meet the subject and begin their creative journey, working in the medium of their choice.

Join us for a cocktail-style evening with drinks at bar prices and complimentary finger food as we officially launch this year’s competition.

There’s also plenty at stake, with the winning artist receiving the $2,000 Acquisitive Prize, proudly sponsored by Mansfield Shire Council. There are still plenty of fabulous artworks waiting for a bid, so if you’ve had your eye on a favourite — or haven’t found one yet — now is the time to get involved.

Expressions of Interest are now CLOSED!

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted an Expression of Interest for the 2026 Three Faces Portrait Prize. We’ve been thrilled by the response and the interest from artists across a range of creative mediums.

The next step is for the Arts Mansfield committee to review all submissions and select three finalist artists.

What happens next?
The three successful finalists will be notified by 20 August 2026 and will then begin preparing for the Prize’s two key events.

Both events will be held at the Delatite Hotel, Mansfield, with Mansfield Shire Council proudly serving as the major sponsor.

A celebratory dinner event where the completed portraits will be revealed and the winning artwork announced.
Bookings will be advised nearer to the time.

Congratulations to local young artist Will McDougall on being selected as a finalist in the Young Archie Competition at the Shepparton Art Museum (SAM)!

Will’s portrait will be exhibited in the Children’s Gallery from 5 September to 1 November, an outstanding achievement and wonderful recognition of his artistic talent.

Creating and sharing your art takes courage, and we’re proud to see our local young artists embracing these opportunities.

We wish Will all the very best for the awards announcement in October and look forward to seeing where his creative journey takes him!

We’re excited to see the Three Faces Portrait Prize 2026 featured, showcasing the competition’s exciting new format.

Expressions of Interest are now open to artists aged 18+ working in any medium. Three finalists will be selected to create a portrait of a recognised Mansfield identity, with the winning artist receiving the $2,000 acquisitive prize proudly sponsored by Mansfield Shire Council. Two runner-up prizes of $250 will also be awarded.

Expressions of Interest close: 5pm, Saturday 15 August.

Only a few weeks left to enter the 2026 Three Faces Portrait Prize!

We’re excited by the response so far, with 9 Expressions of Interest already received from local artists.

If you’ve been thinking about applying, there’s still time—but not much!

For the first time, the Three Faces Portrait Prize is open to all artistic mediums. Whether you’re a painter, photographer, sculptor or work in another medium, we’d love to see your Expression of Interest.

From all applications, three finalists will be selected to create a portrait of a recognised identity from the Mansfield Shire.

Finalists will take part in two special public events at the Delatite Hotel:
The Reveal – Thursday 3 September 2026
The Unveiling – Thursday 15 October 2026

Expressions of Interest are now open for the 2026 Three Faces Portrait Prize!

Are you an artist living in Mansfield and surrounds? We invite creatives working in any medium — painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, mixed media and more — to submit an Expression of Interest.

Three finalist artists will be selected to create a portrait of a recognised Mansfield district identity, with works unveiled at a special community event in October 2026.

$2,000 Acquisitive Prize sponsored by Mansfield Shire Council
Two Runner-Up Prizes of $250 each

The winning artwork will become part of the Mansfield Shire Council’s permanent Three Faces collection.
