An interesting project full details below if you are interested.

I hope this message
finds you well! My name is Indiana Sandwell, and I am currently an honours student in Swinburne University’s Film and Television Course.
Over
the following weeks, my team and I will be creating our final film project, called
Run
The Gauntlet, which
was chosen by our lectures and peers to be made for our honours year.

We
are filming in Mansfield, and are currently looking at casting
some
of our minor roles along with some extras.
We
were hoping to get in contact with the group to promote this opportunity!
We
would love to meet and work with local young performers to help us bring our film to life.

We
are looking for 2-3 young males (aged 16-22) to play the main character’s bullies. These characters have lines and a fair amount of screen time. This is a PAID role.

We
are also looking for extras (16-22) of any gender identities to play school student extras. This is a VOLUNTEER role.

Both
of these opportunities will be happening on the 20th and the 21st of March

We
are hoping that this message can be passed on to anyone interested, or if there is a way we can talk to anyone directly!

It
will be an incredible opportunity to work alongside professional actors, as well as having hands-on experience in the Victorian film industry.
The
experience will also be a strong reference point on any resume.

If
you have any questions, please feel free to ask. If you would like, we would be happy to meet in person, or have a call where we could discuss further. We would be honoured to work with local Mansfield actors!

Last Friday night (5th December) The MAD Orchestra and a big enthusiastic Christmas Chorus performed Christmas Carols at The Mansfield Botanic Park even surviving a massive wind storm that blew through. Congratulations to Monica and The Orchestra for a great 2025. The Orchestra still have some more Christmas performances so keep your eyes and ears open.

On Tuesday 24th of November MMuDS celebrated another very successful year with its 2025 AGM. It was was great to see so many enthusiastic members attend and hear all about the year that was. as President Michael presented and read the report of the committee. Treasurer Jess presented her report which continues to show a strong financial position We can all be very proud of what we have achieved and look forward with excitement to 2026. We also had election for the committee that will take us forward into 2026. President Michael thanked the outgoing committee members for all their hard work and commitment and welcomed our new committee members. Onwards and upwards for 2026!

Will done to Monica, the MAD Orchestra and Strings the wonderful St.Johns Choir and a shout out to Richard Smith for his Organ solo. To me a concert like this reinforces the quality of musicianship and singing that we have in our community and the willingness to share this with the rest of us. Well done everybody!
