What a magical day we had at our Mid Murray Support Service Fairy Garden Lunch in early August.

Our guests certainly embraced the theme, with plenty of beautiful floral and fairy-inspired outfits making for a wonderful atmosphere.

🎁 Raffle prizes galore!
As always, we had lots of fantastic raffle prizes up for grabs, including some extra goodies this month thanks to Mark Nevin, solo guitar artist and singer, who generously donated his services at our July lunch. We are very grateful for his kindness and support of MMSS.

🎶 A special musical treat
Between lunch and dessert, the Mannum Community College Choir ventured across the road to entertain us with some of the vocal pieces they have been working on.

A group of MCC students are currently preparing to participate in an Interschool Choir event in Adelaide, so it was a real pleasure to hear them perform and support their musical journey.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Fairy Garden Lunch such a lovely occasion. Good food, great company, music, laughter and a little bit of fairy magic — what more could you ask for?

There are currently a number of bird flu (avian influenza) detections in South Australia, so we’d like to remind our care recipients to take a few simple precautions when out and about.

If you come across a sick or dead wild bird:
❌ Please do not touch or handle the bird
🐕 Keep children and pets away from it
🧤 Avoid contact with bird droppings and contaminated areas
📞 Report unusual or large numbers of sick or dead birds to the appropriate authorities.

At this stage, detections in South Australia remain primarily associated with wild birds, and there is no need for alarm. The best thing we can all do is follow the current advice and avoid unnecessary contact with sick or dead birds.

Please take care, especially when enjoying our beautiful local birdlife. 💙🐦

Ladies Day Out – McLaren Vale!

Our July Ladies Day Out was a lovely day filled with art, good food and great company!

We headed to The Cube at McLaren Vale, where we enjoyed an arty morning exploring the exhibitions — and we were especially lucky to see the wonderful work of Dr Seuss.
After soaking up all that creativity, we headed off for a delicious lunch at the McLaren Vale Hotel.

It was a wonderful day out with plenty of laughs, conversation and friendship. Thank you to all our lovely ladies who joined us — we hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did! ❤️
