☀️☀️Things are heating up at Capestone this Saturday!☀️☀️

After some rather chilly starts lately, it looks like we’re finally in for a warmer parkrun morning, with Brisbane heading for a top of 31°C on Saturday. Summer is clearly starting to knock on the door!

We’re also expecting a few extra faces at Capestone Lake this week, with one of our neighbouring parkruns taking the week off. So whether you’re one of our regular Capestonians or visiting us for the morning, you’re very welcome! 💚

Our essential volunteer roster is covered, but with the possibility of a bigger-than-usual crowd, a little extra support would be very handy:

🚶‍♀️ Second parkwalker

If you fancy taking it easy this week, Tail Walker or parkwalker is a pretty good deal. You still get your 5km, plus a volunteer credit, while helping us make sure everyone out on course has some company and support.

Or, if you’d rather stay near the action, we’d love someone to capture the morning for us as Photographer 📸

Is now the time?
The time you take your first step into volunteering?
You know you want to!!!! We are a great and supportive group.
We are seeking some key roles for this Saturday the 29 August.
We are after a time keeper, finish tokens, I’m hollering for a marshal and could do with some tail walkers. Please reach out if you’re available!

The roster is looking great for tomorrow!

This is a reminder we have our annual "Kids Take Over" parkrun coming up in 3 weeks. We would love to see our junior parkrunners in as many volunteer roles as possible. We've got some roles filled already, but are still needing:
- Timekeeper
- Finish Tokens
- Marshal (Note, may require an adult for younger kids)
- Photographer - Take some photos of everyone having fun!
Also if your junior wants to take part in the run/walk but volunteer, there are a couple of other options:
- First Timers Welcome - brief our visitors and newcomers to parkrun.
- parkwalker x 2 - Walk around and give everyone encouragement.

It’s THURSDAY! Do you know what that means?!?

It’s 2 days to parkrun 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Our numbers have increased a little so if we can get a second barcode scanner that would be brilliant.

We also need someone to do the first timers brief.

What a great turn out this morning for 2 and a bit laps around the Lake! Thanks to volunteers and everyone for joining us this morning.

Capestone Lake parkrun - Event number 126 - 15th August 2026

This week 178 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 30 were first timers and 33 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 17 different clubs took part.

The event was made possible by 10 volunteers:

Capestone Lake parkrun started on 16th March 2024. Since then 4,686 participants have completed 15,449 parkruns covering a total distance of 77,245 km, including 2,692 new Personal Bests. A total of 422 individuals have volunteered 1,671 times.
