Today, RDA Bendigo volunteers set up their used gear stall at the Mandurang Valley Events Festival, Mandurang.
What a successful day we had 🤗 The weather turned on yet another glorious sunny day with so much to see and do.

Today, 7 of us had the opportunity to represent RDA Bendigo at the Great Chase. We were not fortunate in bringing home any winnings this year, but we did enjoy a lovely lunch, and good company outside the RDA environment.

Thanks to the Greyhound Association for inviting us along for this our third year. Congratulations to the winners on the day.

RDA Bendigo is celebrating 50 years!

2026 marks a very special milestone for our centre - 50 years of RDA Bendigo!

For five decades, our centre has been a place where horses and people have come together to create opportunities, build confidence, make friendships and share countless special moments. Along the way, there have been so many wonderful riders, families, volunteers, supporters and, of course, some very special horses who have played an intrigual part in our journey.

🎉 Our 50th Anniversary Celebration will be held on Saturday 17th October 2026.

If you have received an invitation, please remember that RSVPs are due by 1st October. We would greatly appreciate your reply by this date to help finalise arrangements.

To those who have been involved with RDA Bendigo over the years but haven't received an invitation, please don't think you're forgotten!

We would love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] and we will be happy to provide you the venue and celebration details.

Four of us attended CEPA Farm Supplies open day on Saturday 12th September to promote our centre as we have done for many years.

With up to 20% discount across the range, it was a good chance to grab some feed for the RDA horses, talk to the many feed specialists in attendance and to chat to prospective volunteers interested in joining our program.
A great day was had by all.

Term 3 is done and dusted after quite a fresh start to the day, but that didn't deter our riders or volunteers.

It was also our centre's onsite Accreditation assessment which we passed. Thank you to Aileen Marshall from RDA Maryborough for coming over to do this.

We also had RDAV Office Manager Lisa Blackmore visit us to see how our centre operates and to also help with some potential grants on offer that may be of benefit to our centre. Thank you Lisa.

Thank you also to those prospective volunteers that came to observe and find out more about volunteering at our centre.

Rain didn't stop these two riders from enjoying our first day back this term.

Basketball relay was a favourite, esp with Gerard, he certainly kept us on our toes.
Skylah opted for a trail ride after the activity course ..but with so much rain lately, it was a shorter one than usual.

It was great to catch up with Sandy again too.

Thanks Chris, Kylie,Kerry, Carol, Liz, Sue and Jan for setting up the activity course and helping to make the day a success. Donny was also given a work out by Kylie and Kerry just so he wasn't left out !

RDA Bendigo would like to thank all our wonderful volunteers.

Saying thank you never feels like enough for the time, care, patience and dedication you give to our RDA centre. Every ride day, lesson, horse preparation, arena setup, riders encouraged with a quiet moment of support, makes a difference far greater than you could ever realise.

Our riders gain confidence, independence, strength and joy because of the people standing beside them...and that is you!

Whether you lead a horse, sidewalk, coach, help behind the scenes, care for equipment or simply step in wherever needed, you are an essential part of our centre.

Volunteering takes commitment, compassion and heart and we are so incredibly grateful for the time you give freely to make a difference in the lives of those with a disability.
