Do you enjoy photography? Come and join us at The Mandurah Photography Club.

All ages are welcome.

Meetings are generally twice a month. We have education nights, photo appraisal nights, outings etc.

This year we've had practical education in the basics of photography technique, table top photography, astro photography, portrait photography as well as some outings and picnics.

The Appraisal Nights are more about getting advice on how to improve our photos than the competitive side.

Any camera is fine, it doesn't need to be a fancy one. We have a phone section too. A photo is a photo.

Our next get together is an Appraisal Night on Wednesday 9th September.

Feel free to come and check us out. We're quite friendly!

The Mandurah Photography Club is based in Mandurah, Western Australia and has been bringing people together since 1972 to share their passion for photography. Club activities provide a social and learning experience. We hold club nights, workshops, outings, photo walks, exhibitions and more. ​

We are a group of like minded friends who get together twice a month. We have Education Nights and Photo Appraisal Nights as well as a few picnics and outings. This week we'll be meeting on Wednesday at Cicerrellos at 6.30pm for a catchup and a night photography shoot. Hopefully the weather is kind to us.

Last month's Education Night was a portrait shoot with Erin.

PhotoLive Expo returns to Novotel Perth Langley on Sunday, July 26, bringing together Western Australia's photography, videography and content creation community for its 12th year.

Please join us on Wednesday 24 June at 6.30pm for part two of Peter Rattigan's tutorial on Astro Photography. Bring your camera, a wide angle lens (f2.8 would be ideal), a tripod, remote camera trigger if you have one and something warm. If you don't have any of these items, come anyway and we'll work something out.

Mandurah Photography Club is a club for like minded friends to catch-up and share their passion for photography.

Tonight is our monthly Appraisal Night. This month's topic is 'Rush Hour '. The photos will be appraised by a professionally trained judge who will give us tips on how to improve our photos.

We meet twice a month for an 'Education Night' and an 'Appraisal Night '.

The Education Nights we've had this year include practical hands on education for Table Top photography, Portrait Photography, Astro Photography as well as a family picnic photography walkabout in Pinjarra.

We will be meeting tonight. Wednesday 10th June.
6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Nightscape Photography Course

The next Education Night will be held TONIGHT at the Lion’s Den, starting at 6:30pm.
The subject will be Nightscape Photography.
Nightscape photography is landscape photography taken at night and usually featuring the Milky Way as a key element. This is a very creative genre of photography and can produce some striking images but it does require some technical skill & equipment you may not normally use in your normal photography (not expensive equipment)
The goal of this workshop is for you to leave with the knowledge and ability to shoot the stars on your own. I'll be guiding you through the basics of landscape- astrophotography all the way up to some advanced techniques.
We'll also touch on some basic astronomy information that will help you plan and capture images of the stars.
The course was originally designed during Covid lockdown and was run via Zoom sessions over a period of weeks. I will try and compress it into a night’s training but it may need to run over into a second session in June. The theory will be followed by a night shoot (date & location to be decided).

Here's a few photos from our last appraisal night. An appraisal night is not intended as a competition but as a way of getting your photos 'appraised' by a trained photography judge. It's a great way to learn how to improve your photos.

Our last get together was an 'Appraisal Night', where we got expert opinion on what works well and also how we can improve our photos.
