🧡 Meet the Orange Lady at PCLS! 🧡

A big thank you to Zonta for kindly loaning Peel Community Legal Services the Orange Lady to display in our reception until Wednesday! 🧡

Our PCLS team has been getting involved to help spread an important message — NO to violence against women and girls! 📸🧡

The Orange Lady Project was developed by the Zonta Club in Queensland in 2013 as part of Zonta International’s Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign. The project raises awareness, encourages conversations and reminds us all that everyone has a role to play in creating a world free from violence.

🧡 Look out for the Orange Lady Project!

From 25 November to 10 December, during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Orange Lady will be displayed in community venues to raise awareness of violence against women and girls.

Keep an eye out for her in your local community as we come together to spread the message that everyone deserves to live free from violence.

At Peel Community Legal Services, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and supported. We provide free legal advice and advocacy to eligible members of the Peel community, helping people understand their rights and access the support they need.

We’re excited to be attending the Community Day on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at the Western Foreshore in Mandurah! 🙌🏽

PCLS is proud to support our local community by providing free legal advice and advocacy to eligible people across the Peel region. We can assist with a range of legal issues, including family law, civil law and tenancy matters, and help people understand their rights and access the support they need.

Come along, visit our stall, meet our team and find out more about the services we offer and how we can support you, your family and our community. 💙

There will be plenty happening on the day, including cultural performances, live music from Red Ochre Band, free children's activities, a free sausage sizzle, market stalls and much more!

Peel Community Legal Services (PCLS) welcomes this funding boost for Western Australia’s community legal services. 💙

This investment is an important step in recognising the vital role community legal centres play in providing access to justice for people experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage.

However, continued and sustainable funding is essential to ensure services like PCLS can meet the growing demand for free legal advice, advocacy and community support across the Peel region.

We support Community Legal WA’s ongoing advocacy for the long-term funding needed to ensure everyone has access to justice when they need it.

Community Legal WA has welcomed a $2 million funding boost for Western Australia’s community legal services, following sustained advocacy to ease financial pressures across the sector, including for practising certificate fee relief.

The investment will provide much-needed flexibility for services, while CLWA continues to advocate for the long-term funding needed to meet growing legal need across WA.

Our upcoming State Budget Submission will call for an additional $22.4 million per annum investment in community legal services.
