Winners at the LiveLighter Aged Care Games! The Games are an annual, adapted sporting and social evens for Western Australian aged care residents, run by the Seniors Recreation Council of WA (SRCWA) and supported by LiveLighter Healthway.

The games provide team participation, light physical and cognitive competition, and social interaction for seniors in care.

Coolibah Care residents have been active participants for the last few years and, from the photos, you can see it looks to be so much fun.

Our residents don't just rock on the day .. they have been training hard with a shared commitment to do Coolibah proud .. and they did!

Thank you, Coolibah community 💙

Our Community Charity Drive has wrapped up, and we're so proud to share what you made possible.

Over the past few weeks, residents, families, clients and the Coolibah team filled tub after tub with pantry staples, tinned meals, pasta, flour, toiletries and everyday essentials. Those tubs have now been handed over to WestAus Crisis & Welfare Services.

For more than 30 years, WestAus has been there for people across the Peel region at some of the hardest moments of their lives. Their team provides emergency relief, food aid, crisis accommodation (including for people escaping domestic violence), tenancy advice, and advocacy to help people find the right support. They even run a Healthy Breakfast Club so local kids can start the school day with a full tummy.

Crisis can reach any of us. Knowing there's a local team ready to help makes a real difference to our community.

Sometimes wellness isn't about doing more. Sometimes it's about stopping for a moment, taking a breath, and giving yourself permission to pause.

Today, we bought a little relaxation to the workplace with our Pause & Unwind sessions. Our massage therapists were on site and ready to help ease away some of the tension that can build up through busy days, long hours, and caring for others.

Our team spend so much of our time supporting residents, colleagues, and each other. Wellness Week is a reminder that their wellbeing matters too.

Life is short. Eat the cookie!

In case you missed it, we're in day 2 of our Wellness Week! Today we invited some very talented bakers who competed for cookie glory.

The mission was simple: sample the entries, cast the vote, and help crown the winner of this year's bake off. From classic favourites to creative masterpieces, there was plenty of delicious cookies to enjoy!

It's Wellness Week at Coolibah .. and we have our very own mascot .. our Koala!

The Coolibah Team are an incredibly important part of our community. Every day they work alongside residents and families to provide care, support, companionship and assistance.

Wellness Week is an opportunity for us to say: “We appreciate you. We value what you do. We want you to look after yourselves too.”

We encourage our residents and families to get behind Wellness Week by giving our team a smile, a kind word, a thank you or simply asking them how they are going.

Sometimes these small gestures can make a very big difference.

Father’s Day is a time to celebrate the men who’ve shaped our lives - fathers, grandfathers, stepdads, uncles, and mentors of every kind.

At Coolibah Care, we honour the dads among our residents and clients, and the special role they have played in their families and communities.

Whether it’s a BBQ, a chat on the phone, a b**r tasting (like we did), or simply sharing a cuppa, we wish everyone a warm and joyful Father’s Day.

Coolibah Care is proud to support community wellness by partnering with WestAus Crisis & Welfare Services and helping people experiencing homelessness access vital support services.

We're collecting non-perishable food, toiletries and blankets - things like:
💙Canned food
💜Pasta and rice
💙Breakfast cereals
💜Kids snacks
💛Shampoo and Conditioner
💚Toothpaste and toothbrushes
💜Blankets - new or clean

Drop of your donations to the Coolibah Care Main Reception between 9am and 4pm from Monday 7th September to Friday 11th September.

We recently had a visit from WA Birds of Prey.

The organisation rescues and cares for sick, injured and/or orphaned Birds of Prey.

The residents just loved the experience of getting up close and meeting these beautiful birds. It was very special.

A big thanks to our Lifestyle Team for organising this special presentation.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Hilton Doust over the weekend, aged 102.

Many in our community will know Hilton. A World War II veteran, he recited the Ode at our ANZAC Day ceremony here at Coolibah Care since 2021. He delivered those words with such heart, and they will stay with everyone who heard them.

Hilton remained active and involved right up until his passing. His contribution to the Mandurah community will not be forgotten.

Our sincere condolences to Hilton's family and friends at this difficult time.

Following on from Aged Care Employee Day, and our 57 year celebrations, we recognised some of our long-serving Coolibah team members. Between them, these familiar faces have given years - some decades - of care, commitment and heart to our residents, clients and each other.

Thank you for everything you do, and for choosing a career with meaning, year after year.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend ahead ... and very happy to see some warmer weather rolling in! ☀️
